Paypal investigating me

Can you confirm how you sent the dvd's?
If you sent it without either recorded or special delivery, I can tell you now, that the complaint is for non-delivery
Cheers, Des.0 -
Have past paypal all emails from him so they know everything.
Got another email from him yesterday asking if I had posted his item - I emailed back and said yes, it had been posted and forward him the email I sent to him the day before confirming postage (i email every buyer to confirm parcels have been sent) - he said he didnt receive that email.
I sent the parcel via royal mail standard parcels - he wouldnt even have received it until today at the earliest so I dont know how he can report me for not receiving it!
I understand now that I cant prove delivery so I will lose this battle.
I have reported him to ebay for doing this all because I would not leave feedback quick enough. I also emailed him today saying that not only do I not have his money, I no longer have the DVDs and I am not happy. I may take the gamble of small claims court - I've lost enough already, just as well lose another £30 or so in costs on the off chance that I will win!
I will keep you posted. Thank you all so much for your help.... feel free to keep it coming :T2012 wins approx £11,000 including 5k to spend on a holiday :j0 -
I hope it all goes well for you. I may have jumped the gun, I think paypal prevent you from filing for non-delivery before a certain time, or maybe I am right, and they just advise you to wait, I can't remember.
The paypal system is just so bad for honest sellers, and so easy to manipulate. Print out a copy of the requirements for seller protectioin that Paypal adhere to strictly, have a read of it, have another read, and then memorise it
Include the relevant parts in your auction listing detailing what you need a paypal buyer to adhere to for you to accept paypal.
If you get a payment that doesn't adhere to the letter of the paypal rules, just refund the payment, hask them to comply, or pay by another means. If they won't, just report them as a NPB and take the hit on your feedback.
I know those measures are extreme to some, but they are the only way to cover your !!!!!! if you accept paypal on ebay.

This buyer sounds like a nightmare. Have you tried phoning them with the contact details you pulled? In my experience people act very differently over the phone. They often are so annoyed for some stupid reason that they lose all sense of logic adn never read the mails properly. My advice would eb a phonecall tofind out exactly what is happening, explain the dvds won't be arriving for a day or two and ask for a cheque payment! I would definately give them a call.
The threat of the small claims court may be enough to get something happening.0 -
If i have any issues i tend to phone them.

Standard parcels can take up to 5 days to arrive, so it is early days yet. It does not have a trackable method of delivery so you will lose if the buyer persists with his claim.
However, there is good news. Standard parcels are insured, you should have been given the option when posting to say the level of insurance you required. Also on your receipt the post office gave you, which they do automatically for parcel service you have a 'tracking number'. Don't get excited (grin) this isn't really a tracking number it is the number that Royal Mail use themselves to prove they have accepted the parcel. If the parcel gets lost, or the buyer claims it as lost then you will have to refund via paypal, but you can claim back against the Royal Mail using your parcel receipt.
Last year I bought something for my son and it was lost in the post. The seller did not want me to go through the chargeback procedure so he refunded me after about 21 days. However the parcel arrived over a month later, the packaging wasn't even torn or damaged in any way. I sent the money back to the seller and made a complaint to the Royal Mail. They sent me a padded envelope to return the packing and 10 days later i received compensation of £12 for the delay.
Lastly, definitely send details of the feedback email to ebay as a complaint and if he does reclaim his money from paypal don't forget that makes him a non paying bidder so start that process as well. Not many people realise that someone who charges back from paypal can be classed as a NPB so your buyer might be in for a shock.

Hi
Thanks for all your advice.
Can you let me know if I am allowed to contact the other 2 people that the buyer bought from on the same day he bought from me? They left feedback immediately, I presume because he asked them to, so I would like to know if he has withdrawn their money as well.
I have a feeling it may be against ebay rules to do this but thought I'd ask you guys for confirmation!
No reply from paypal, ebay or buyer yet. Any ideas how long this will take to get sorted? Tomorrow night at 11pm I will be registering him as a NPB (will be 7 days then) so will see what happens then.2012 wins approx £11,000 including 5k to spend on a holiday :j0 -

Hmmm technically ebay view that as spamming other members, but I'd take the chance myself - I have done before asked someone who bought a boxset of dvd's if they were genuine or copies - and the person replied that they'd bought copies! but still left a positive. I think any genuine ebayer can differentiate between a polite request and spam but still technically against ebays policy so it's a judgement call really.0 -
