What an horrendous story Yvonne

I would definitely, definitely, definitely take it further - write to H.O.

https://www.howtocomplain.co.uk is quite a good tool, I've used it in the past.

How on earth could she make such bull claims, almost as if we were committing a fraudulent act by buying items with offers that they enable. Priceless!!

If they're going to limit coupon redemption, why do their machines offer so many? Wny do they print any in the papers and why do they send 10 or more out with each mailing???

Smells like bull****, looks like bull****, chances are it is bull**** :D

Sorry forgot to add that according to the 2nd person Boots knew nothing of any conjunction with Daily Mirror to print the vouchers in the first place! I find that very hard to beleive!

Just looking at that site, thank you!

had a similar thing yesterday, some of the staff do seem to be getting a bit above themselves in policing this

The machine gave me a voucher for 150 points on Skin Kindly stuff so, having looked round the store, I spotted a couple of Skin Kindly items reduced to £1.50 so I was well pleased.

However on taking them to the till the assistant says "I can't put that voucher through as that would mean you effectively get the product for free, and anyway the vouchers aren't meant for reduced items"! Of course I argued saying nowhere on the voucher does it say it can't be used on reduced items but she was adamant and really very stroppy about it too. I stood my ground and the supervisor did ultimately overrule her but it was both unnecessary and embarrassing.

If Boots' answer to their own till/voucher mistakes is to get unpleasant staff to do the dirty work at point of sale by being obstructive then they are going to lose a lot of customers. Alternatively if the till assistants are being like this of their own volition for whatever reason - maybe jealousy or a perceived but misguided sense of authority - then I think Boots should be made aware. I will certainly be sending in a complaint!

Does anyone else here use the Huddersfield store? Surely it must be someone here must have been the person they were trying to get (Who had 1000 points added as my earlier post), did you have any problems?

Not sure how to word the complaint just yet,

    Yvonne

I can't help that think by blatantly exploiting these mistakes and then being indignant and complaining when it doesn't work for the umpteenth time, you may force boots to reconsider thier policies, and then everyone will miss out on the savings that can be made.

I wasn't exploiting a mistake, starlite, it was a straight extra points voucher for the corresponding correct product I was purchasing that was not being honoured (on the decision of the till assistant) seemingly because that particular product had been reduced

i wasn't referring to you, just having scan through the recent threads and some people seem to think they have been cheated by this points offer....

Hope your not referring to me either as I haven't had any points from this offer & was perfectly willing to accept that the points couldn't be added for the bags, it was more the attitude I was angry with.

And the pertinent word in your statement is "offer". Boots "offer" a bonus amount of points for purchasing a product, no conditions on maximum price. Then that "offer" is not honoured and Boots staff impose their own made-up-on-the-spot policy about why it's not been allowed.....I think it's not unreasonable to feel "cheated"

Additionally, some posters have been insulted and abused by Boots staff, giving more than fair and reasonable cause for complaint.

If I'd heard allegations of employees of mine acting toward customers in that way I would be investigating the matter thoroughly!
