Thats what they said to me about Eon.
But surely, if they are owed they would chase? How could it go on for 14 months? Something does not add up.Its not even in the same tax year.

I am OK to wait for the Quidco cashback, as they clearly said how long it would take. If it doesn't appear by that time, I will be chasing it.

    Absolutely luci. 👍️

It'll certainly make me think twice before signing up for another cashback deal via MSE.

Yes, I agree with that. And they are still offering cash back, which suggests this will keep happening.

MSE makes money when you switch energy, provided its a tariff they can switch you to.

Occasionally there are tariffs MSE can't switch you to but do get paid for even if you switch on the suppliers site. They will always be denoted with a * on the button you click to get to the suppliers site.

Of course, it's all about making money from consumers (us).

Its a double win win for MSE, not paying cashback.

I'm now in my 8th month, which strongly suggests to me, I'm never going to receive my cashback. I'm waiting for divine intervention.

It's shameful considering the economic climate.

Can I ask not_a_new_user did you get an email from MSE during the early part of the switch, that said you would receive your cash back within 6 months?

    Hi,

    Yes I did, phew.

It says ' We'll pay Energy Club cashback within 6 months'.

It was actually the day the tariff started.

So they advertise £20 cash back on site as part of switch.
They do not state subject to any conditions anywhere clearly on the same page or at any time during the switch.
And, they send an email during the switch that states cash back will be received within 6 months.
Which looks like this on my email at least:

    7.

We'll pay Energy Club cashback within six months.

We're paid each time you switch through us, as with all energy comparison sites. Unlike the rest we give you roughly half of this back... but right now we can only do this automatically if you pay for your energy by Direct Debit.

If you don’t pay by Direct Debit, it’s harder for us to pay you as we don’t have your bank details. We’ll reach out to you directly to get your bank details using a secure form.

Same here. Switched via Cheap Energy Club beginning of March to E.ON Next, Next Fixed 15m v7.

    7 months and counting. Contacted the team, initially got the AI response then just this from a human;

"I'm sorry that you've not yet received your cashback payment, this is taking longer than expected because we've not yet received the required update from your supplier.

If you switch through Cheap Energy Club, then we get paid a referral fee. Of this referrers' fee we give you roughly half back, because we want to encourage switching. You don't usually get this if you go direct to a comparison site, nor if you switch directly with an energy company.

As the cashback is coming from the supplier’s referral fee unfortunately if there is a delay in your supplier paying this fee, it also delays our ability to pay cashback. This can mean that it can take longer than the average of 12 weeks and in some instances may take up to 6 months.

As it's been over 6 months, I've asked the team who issue cashback and liaise with suppliers to look into this for you. This may take a little while to resolve, as we're reliant on your supplier getting back to us. As soon as we hear back from it, we'll get in touch to provide you with an update."

    That was 3 weeks ago.
