its driving me nuts, even if i select the dropdown to show 'recently commented', once i have opened and read said thread that i had bookmarked, when i go and re select 'bookmarked threads' it reverts back to 'recently created' - it wont hold my choice of 'recently commented' …grrr

When you have selected "recently commented" save the url where you can easily access it, perhaps on the Bookmarks Bar in your browser, and then next time you want to go back, use the saved url.

Yes, that works. But I'd previously saved 'My Bookmarks' in my favourites and suddenly that didn't do what it has done for the last 15+ years…
MSE forum team: Why did you need to change it? It worked perfectly well before… it's the constant tinkering for no benefit that is so infuriating… and PLEASE can we have the edit quote function back

very pleased to read the above comments. I don’t want to see recent discussions, just go to. Bookmarked threads and visit the threads I am following. I’m not sure what to do about this because I definitely do not want to have to faff around to see something. Recently created doesn’t help either. What a silly alteration.

From bad to worse with all the changes. WHY???

As a work around, I've used the 'other' click (right click) to open each thread in a new tab, and then just refreshed the original akward list of correctly filtered bookmarks. Users should not have to compensate for poorly thought out web design!
Also, visually haviing the title in a lighter font than the text of the first post is not well thought out! The minute I read the thread, the title becomes visually irrelevant on the listirrelevPlease MSE designers, remember to consult with your user base even when most of us are old enough to be your grans! User experience should be your first port of call in a refresh or tweak of a web-space!

I'm regularly getting the MSE page text overlaid on posts and a box with the lightbulb emoji popping up, when I press the thumbs up button (on samsung internet browser on Samsung Galaxy phone)

Just out of interest @Cherryfudge , did you know in advance about this change or just intuition. 🤔

I don't think it is MSE that has changed it. It is a forum upgrade by Vanilla and they will not change it just for one customer who wants something different. It would need complaints from a majority of customers to make them put it back as it was but I think that most will prefer it this way when they understand it and get used to it.
They have actually just rearranged how certain threads are being presented and given the user more choice of how they wish to see these threads presented.
I do think that most users would prefer the default sort order to be Recently Commented rather than Recently Created but this was mentioned before in regard to the old Recent Discussions but it wasn't changed.

I understand what you mean @BootsMullery but I'm not getting the most recently commented at the top of the list. As an example, a thread that has comments from earlier today is further down my bookmarks list than ones that haven't had comments for days or even weeks.
As with other 'upgrades' I'm sure some people will just put up with it and others will limit their use or give up on the forum. I know, for instance, that since it was not possible to edit quotes I don't bother to expand the full quote and so no longer engage with threads that I might have posted on in the past.
