Thanks for the advice the system is broken, if I have to get a CCJ in error to fight this.

I don't have time I work full time and single dad, for all the advice on here clearly the system is against us - it was Me v Tesco and Judge was of the opinion that Tesco don't have signage without land owner authority.

She was also of the opinion that PPC can charge fines for people who overstay and don't pay up.

As wrong as it is I can't afford the collateral damage of CCJ at the moment and the hassle fight what is a broken and bent system.

I did overstay, whilst I don't think Horizon should get the increased amount I am told 6 weeks for a judgement!

The whole thing is quite ridiculous but I have stressed wasted over a day fighting it, I am going to pay £390. and at least it is over.

Still no response from the court, no judgement made.

I have contacted gladstones told them I want to pay the amount and they have refused payment without a judgement.

Am I correct in thinking the 30 days doesn't start until the judgment is issued?

I need to correct the interest might be worth emailing the court to get that amended.

So am I correct in thinking until the judgement is issued I cannot make payment and the 30 days don't start?

Court said 10 days ago it would be issued shortly.

"I need to correct the interest might be worth emailing the court to get that amended."

I already told you to urgently email the court to correct ALL the adding up errors under the slip rule. Not just the interest. She also added the £70 twice.

But I'd have handed the case to Contestor Legal two weeks ago to appeal and rescue it entirely, so that you end up paying nothing.

Both of the above did not involve you sitting and waiting. Choose one path now.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

My life in complicated at the moment trying to buy a new home. I only have a few months months to move.

I don't need CCJ I explained I took advice on here and ended up with CCJ for 390!

You wanted me to pay £120 and plus legal fees to stop £390 and allow a CCJ on my file, I have said that is not an option.

Just want to pay the the thing and Gladstones won't allow that as the order has not been issued and the court don't seem to know what they are doing, they also claimed 10 days ago it would be issued shortly. They have since called back while I was travelling stating they will take the payment and once the judgement is issued they will state it is settled but won't issue electronic proof till the judgement lands.

My research suggests that the order needs to be paid from 30 days from issue not form the court hearing date?

I didn't email the court again as they said it would be issued that's why I waited, I fought it the system is corrupt and judges seem to be on the side of big corporations.

The slip rule means nothing to me!

Subject: Request for Correction of Judgment Pursuant to CPR 40.12 (Slip Rule)

    Dear Sir/Madam,

    Claim No: [Claim Number]

I respectfully request that the judgment dated [date] be reviewed and corrected pursuant to CPR 40.12, as it appears to contain an arithmetic error.

The Court's findings disallowed £10.00 of the principal sum claimed. Accordingly, the calculation should be:

    • Principal claimed: £251.55
    • Less disallowed amount: (£10.00)
    • Correct principal sum: £241.55
    • Interest at 4% for 508 days: £13.45
    • Subtotal: £255.00
    • Trial fee: £27.00
    • Total judgment sum: £282.00

It appears that the judgment amount does not reflect the Court's findings regarding the £10.00 deduction and the consequential calculation of interest.

I therefore respectfully request that the judgment be corrected under CPR 40.12 to reflect the correct total judgment sum of £282.00.

I would be grateful if you could place this request before the District Judge for consideration.

    Yours faithfully,

From what you have described earlier in the thread, assuming interest at 4%, the numbers are:

    £70.00 charge
    £70.00 additional costs as allowed
    £12.29 interest, 4% on £140, 5 Jul 2024 to 14 Sep 2026, 801 days
    £35.00 issue fee
    £50.00 fixed costs
    £27.00 hearing fee
    Total £264.29

    At 8% interest:

    £70.00 charge
    £70.00 additional costs as allowed
    £24.58 interest, 8% on £140, 5 Jul 2024 to 14 Sep 2026, 801 days
    £35.00 issue fee
    £50.00 fixed costs
    £27.00 hearing fee
    Total £276.58

Subject: [CLAIM NUMBER] URGENT Horizon Parking Ltd v [SURNAME], heard 14 September 2026. Request to check the judgment sum before the order is sealed

    Dear Sir or Madam

    Claim number [CLAIM NUMBER]
Horizon Parking Limited v [FULL NAME]
Small claims hearing at Taunton County Court on 14 September 2026 before [JUDGE'S NAME]

I am the Defendant. Please put this email in front of the judge who heard the case.

The court told me on [DATE] that the order has not been drawn yet. I ask the judge to check the total before the order is sealed. At the end of the hearing I queried the interest figure and the judge said she would check it.

This email is only about the arithmetic. I am not asking the court to change what it decided.

    (1) What the judge decided, from my note of the hearing

    Parking charge of £70 allowed.
Admin charge of £10 not allowed.
    Additional costs of £70 allowed.
Interest at 4% from July 2024.
    Court fee £35, solicitor's costs £50, hearing fee £27.
    Total given as £392.69.

    (2) What those decisions add up to

    £70.00 parking charge
    £70.00 additional costs
    £12.29 interest at 4% on £140 from 5 July 2024 to 14 September 2026 (801 days)
    £35.00 court fee
    £50.00 solicitor's costs
    £27.00 hearing fee
    Total £264.29

If the court meant interest at 8%, the interest is £24.58 and the total is £276.58.

The total given at the hearing was £392.69. That is £128.40 more than the 4% total and £116.11 more than the 8% total.

    (3) Where the extra comes from

£392.69 is exactly these four figures added together.

£251.55, the total on the claim form
    £70.00 additional costs
    £27.00 hearing fee
    £44.14, which is 801 days at £0.0551 a day (8% a year on £251.55)

The claim form total of £251.55 was already made up of the £70 parking charge, the £10 admin charge, the £70 additional costs, £16.55 interest at 8% up to the date of issue, the £35 court fee and the £50 solicitor's costs.

Starting from £251.55 therefore causes five errors.

    (a) The £70 additional costs is counted twice. It is already inside the £251.55 and it was added again.
    (b) The £10 admin charge is still inside the £251.55, although it was not allowed.
    (c) Interest is counted twice for the period from 5 July 2024 to the date of issue. The £16.55 covers that period and the £44.14 covers it again.
    (d) Interest has been charged on the court fee, the solicitor's costs and the earlier interest. Interest under section 69 of the County Courts Act 1984 is on the debt only, which is £140.
    (e) The rate used is 8%. My note is that the judge said 4%.

    (4) What I ask

Please draw the order in the sum of £264.29, or £276.58 if the court intended interest at 8%, and not £392.69.

I understand that a judge may correct a decision at any time before the order is sealed (In re L and B (Children) [2013] UKSC 8 at paragraphs 16 and 19). If the order has already been sealed, please treat this email as a request to correct it under CPR 40.12.

I have copied this email to the Claimant's solicitors.

    Yours faithfully
