I’ve been out all morning at meetings re the two charities with which I’m involved and despite coming home feeling (mentally) exhausted, I’ve just unloaded from the back of the Land Rover the Scottish river cobbles I have been gifted. They were left over from my daughter’s garden remodelling - a half a tonne builders bag full of them, so so heavy! I have decanted them bit by bit into the wheelbarrow and added them to my rock garden and pebble fountain/pond thing, and they’ve finished both of those off a treat. A little more planting required in the rock garden (I want to slot in a couple of dozen snowdrops between the bigger stones), but that will have to wait until the weekend when hopefully I will have more time and energy.

Mr PIP and I currently staying at my mums while she's visiting friends, so nothing done at our gaff but have done some housework here to save mum's arthritic back, redrafted a party wall agreement response with BiL, and not gone back to bed despite repeated temptation throughout the day

Deep cleaned smallest nephews room, tidied and hoovered other two nephews room. Finally got to the end of cleaning the kitchen counters. Currently thankful that I do not live in such a massive house

Have finally got the SC out and shoved some veg, pulses, and leftover sausages in it to cook. Was going to do outside stuff now the rain has gone, but helpfully have a headache. So pills and coffee and the sofa are on the cards instead. Possibly lighting the fire as well.

Rang the vet and had the dog's vaccination date shifted to the same as the cat's. Apparently the dog can go three months over, so that's the easiest way to do it. Cat is due in December, when it is much easier to trap her inside as it will probably be colder and wetter (and if we're really lucky we'll also be builder-free).

I’d bought 12 small alpine plants as heavily-discounted manager’s specials recently and they have been sitting outside in their pots waiting for my attention while the rain revived them. I’ve just planted them in my new rock garden (along with some snowdrops bulbs) and they look great! Tiny, but great 😁. I might add some more bulbs in the planting pockets, such as mini tete a tete daffodils and white crocus bulbs.

Sent 8 throws to the dog rescue. Got the money back that was owed to me and used it to (almost) full the car with fuel. Solstice prosecco given to the friend that's joining us in the cabin.
