Assuming you were replying to me if it's free then just get a new landline/broadband as your mum's LA supply it free and they will have to change her current system over the the SIM system that doesn't need a landline.

Ok, visited for lunch and had a quick look at the alarm thing…

If anyone recognises the equipment fill me in on its operation, failing that I'll look for a manual over the weekend with a view into getting her a cheap 5g router that may find a use in her setup.

Only connection is for the DC supply, I didn't notice any telephony connection sockets.

It's a 4G device, it doesn't use the phone line. It will have a SIM inside

That's a 4g system so as someone said it's not dependent on a landline.

If your not sure see if there's a telephone line connected to it that's then connected to the router or master socket.

If it's a system that doesn't need a landline I would have a stern word with your mum's system provider and ask why they don't know what system your mum has as they should know.

There is no telephone connection nor does there appear to any provision either.

I think I need to put more thoughts into next steps.

If that's the case then your mum can just get any phone service to the house.

Have you looked at what your mum can get at her home on a broadband comparison site?

Only issue is if you get fibre to the premises then you require 2 electric sockets, one for router and 1 for ONT box inside the home.

If your mum is on some benefits then she could get a social tariff but it depends on what type she receives.

MSE do a broadband checker that gives social tariff options also
