There are not many companies that will supply new service without wanting a minimum term commitment as the set up costs need to be recovered over the term , things like the installation, router supply are basically paid back over the minimum term , no minimum term expect to pay £100+ upfront to cover those cists , if you can find a company that doesn’t want at least a 12 month minimum term , and it follows the longer the commitment the better the price …a few big brands do 12 month minimum terms as well as 24 months , for example a broadband 150Mb with PAYG phone is £31 24 month minimum terms, or £36 (£5 more) on a 12 month term with BT , others may be cheaper but may not do 12 months (DYOR) , but that’s still cheaper than the current out of contract price with the existing provider.

As far as any alarm etc , you need to check with the provider of it if it’s compatible with IP telephony , chances are it will be .

Mum doesn't have a mobile and it's not an option due to memory loss and an element of confusion which is likely to further deteriorate going forward.

I'm awaiting the council coming back to me re their system requirements.
