In short, yes no problem. All they ask for is the card number etc, they're not bothered about whos name it is in.
Not always true. Sometimes it's only for debts of the main cardholder (eg: Santander), sometimes their spouse or additional cardholders only. You need to read the exact offer first. We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.

Really? I have never come across this before but yes it is always best to check in that case.
I know for a fact that Barclaycard are ok with it as I have done it in the past (to even up debts on our joint finances rather than to take on extra debts)0 -
I spose if you do the BT it'll either go through or not.0

See the link to a picture of the terms of Santander's recent offer to me in this post https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3883059We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.

Hi, im new to MSE , i have approx £300 on next and topshop store cards and pay money off each month and have never missed a payment, however it just occured to me that i could possibly get a 0% credit card to pay both off and then pay the credit card off within 12 months? But i havent got a clue about credit cards, do i need a 0% on purchases or 0% Balance transfer?? i work part time and earn approx £5500. HELP!!!0

You certainly cannot do a BT between Credit Cards from the same company so I'd imagine doing what you suggest wouldn't be allowed anyway supposing a BT Overdraft to Cred Card was allowed .
As for the interest aspect it is 0% interest charged for the full period ..17 months in this case ...interest will begin to be charged after that 17 months ends ( or probably earlier if you default) if you still owe anyhting0 -
I'm so confused.com lol Its a current account to a credit card so I cant do the transfer? if its the same company? thanks0

You need a credit card unconnected with the store cards you have and which offers 0% on BT's for a period long enough for you to pay it off ..Do the BT and pay the debt off ( dont use the card for buying anyhting else while you are paying off the BBT )0 -
I've got £1600 on a Barclaycard where the 0% interest finishes in Oct and £1800 on a LloydsTSB card where i'm paying interest each month at the moment. Is it possible to transfer both of these cards together to a Virgin card for example or can you only do one at a time ? It's a bit awkward at the minute because obviously it would be better to transfer the Barclaycard nearer to Oct but then at the same time i'm paying the interest on the other. I'm really getting confused now ! lol Many thanks in advance.0
