Is it possible to transfer both of these cards together to a Virgin card for example or can you only do one at a time ? It's a bit awkward at the minute because obviously it would be better to transfer the Barclaycard nearer to Oct but then at the same time i'm paying the interest on the other. I'm really getting confused now ! lol Many thanks in advance.
Yes it is perfectly possible, as long as you get a high enough credit limit with the new card to cover both amounts, which will depend on income, credit history, etc.0 -
Many thanks for the reply. That helps a lot0

Hi
I've applied for a Platinum Barclaycard as detailed in the MSE article so that I can do a balance transfer, and now I could do with some advice.
I applied online on the 25 April and was told they needed to do some more checks and would be in touch. Fine. I had a call 2 days later from their fraud team verifying who I was and that it was a genuine application. Also fine. The advisor told me I would receive a letter with a decision in 2-3 days. Barclaycard haven't contacted me since.
I have rung 3-4 times over the last fortnight and each time they tell me either it is still pending or worse that their IT is down and can I call back. The customer service team can’t put me through to the team processing the application, nor contact them internally to say I have been in touch. The last time I spoke to their new applications line (Monday) I asked to speak to a manager. The advisor said he would transfer me and then put me on hold for 10 minutes before I had to give up the call.
I feel like I'm in a holding pattern that I can't do anything about and may never end. I don't want to apply for another card in the meantime because I don't want to affect my credit score.
Is there anything else I can do? If nothing else I want to warn people how bad the Barclaycard new applications customer services line is.0 -

I just applied for one of the new RBS 18mth free 0% on purchases cards because I thought I would put some furniture on it as an interest free loan. My advice would be: don't bother. I had no balance to transfer and just wanted to use the purchase side. I am extremely fortunate in that I earn >100k pa, and have the top rated credit score. I was awarded a limit of £900 then at the end a screen came up saying they would contact me in 10 working days to let me know if I had been successful or not. I have credit limits 10 times that on other cards (which have no balances on them). This is clearly just a headline to draw you in, but they aren't exactly encouraging you to spend on it, because frankly if that is the credit limit they are giving me then what are they giving someone on an average salary? I am all for responsible lending but that's not what this is about and I wish I hadn't wasted an application and entry on my credit file on this.0

Hi there,
I have never transferred a balance to another credit card before. I currently have an M&S Credit Card with 0% interest but will have not repaid the full amount by the end of the interest-free period. I am looking to transfer this balance to another credit card at 0%. Am I correct in thinking that if I transfer to Barclaycard they will charge me the full remaining balance of the M&S Credit Card in addition to 1.6% interest on the full M&S balance?
Is this an easy process? This is all new to me.'The journey home, is never too far...'

I'm not quite sure what you mean but when doing a BT using your Barclaycard you instruct Barclaycard to pay an amount to the M+S card and that amount is decided by you but depends on how much you owe M+S and the Credit Limit on your Barclaycard . If you have enough credit limit on the B'card card you could clear the M+S card completely . There is also a fee of around 3% added on to whatever amount you have BT'd.
You then repay Barclaycard at the agreed rate ( 0%) until that rate ends and thereafte at their usual % rate and if there is anything still owing to M+S you also pay that to them at their agreed rate .0 -

Thanks...
So for example if I transferred a balance of £1000 from M&S to another credit card with a BT rate of 3% I would pay back £1030 if cleared during the 0% interest rate on the new card?'The journey home, is never too far...'
