Guys can anyone advise? I recently applied for Barclays platinum at 0%. They provisionally accepted me but asked me for identity docs. I sent my driving license and a council tax bill in mine and gfs name. Today I got a letter saying I had been rejected, it seemed pretty standard letter but said that my docs did not meet fraud prevention requirements. I can't think why except Tht I only moved to this rented property in October and so all my banking history, indeed even my driving license address is listed at my parents house.

I would like the card but don't want loads of notes on credit file, I'm not too sure how to progress this..

MikeAUK. If your credit history and identity documentation all relates to another address that you still have access to and can collect mail from, (eg: your parent's) then that should be the address you put on your applications. Not sure whether it's worth writing to Barclaycard now.

  • Hi
I have around 8k on my current credit card and struggle to find a lender that does a balance transfer for this amount. Does anybody know of any?
I would also like to know can this 8 k be split into say for seperate 2k balance transfers with different lenders or do i have to find a lender that can cover the whole amount?
Any knowledge would be greatly appreciated

Yes long term payments makes off debt sometime with high Interest rates and vice-versa. By the way, Credit is one of the best thing to get help by the others!!!!

Exactly the same thing happened to me. I moved to this address just under year ago. I think it may be worth a letter to them....

  • Perhaps someone can help.

I am about to max out my Halifax CC that I've had since I was a student. It will soon have the maximum balance of £3000. The minimum monthly payments is now around £50.

At the same time, I am close to maxing out my overdraft at £3000. This costs me £55 per month to have.

I spoke to a Christians Against Poverty volunteer and he advised me to shift my credit card balance to a temporary 0% card and to use this breathing room to reduce my overdraft with the possibility to move to another 0% CC to buy more time if need be.

The thing is that these transfers cost 3% of the transfered debt which in my case, would be £900. This is my take home pay per month and half of this goes on rent and bills.

What would be the best card to transfer £3000 to which doesn't have a £900 fee to do so?
