  • Hi, I have two credit cards and an overdraft I want to lump together somewhere and pay off a set amount each month. Is this possible with a credit card? What's the best option if not?? Really need some help :(

can anyone answer this question for me please?? I have £2000 debt on my virgin card and just 400 on my m&s card, the m&s card have offered me 9 months interest free on balance transfers and virgin currently have interest free balance transfers until april next year. My question is can I transfer the £2000 to the M&S card now, then in few months transfer it back to virgin(to take advantage of their deal in case it comes to an end)
  • Yes of Course,

I did the same with my Barclaycard, it was 18 mths 0% so worked out what I'd need to pay and set up a direct debit to pay it.

Can just sit back and relax now!

Yes of course, I got a Barclaycard Platinum at 0% and worked out how much i'd have to pay over the 18 months, then set up a direct debit
  • Hi, just a quick question to all you credit experts...

Just recieved my barclaycard platinum 0% Balance transfers for 22months.
I have already transfered £ from my halifax one card and i was wondering if it is possible to use the halifax card for another purchase, then transfer the balance again to the barclaycard? doesn't mention anything in t&c's

    thanks in advance..

    Hi All,

Does anyone have a formula/spreadsheet/website that correctly calculates balance transfer savings?

    I found this:
    http://www.stoozing.com/btcalc.htm
...which unfortunatley does not seem to take into account the interest rate of the new card after the 0% period is over.

    Thank you,

    Simon.

PS: Hope I haven't hijacked a thread here? Seems 'Best Balance Transfer Discussion Area' is a catch all for such questsions?

yes that shouldn't be an issue - you will get charged another fee, which has a mininum, so make sure that the balance transfer fee, say 4% of the £100 purchase < minimum balance transfer fee, example £5

So what I mean is that for the example above, you'd get charged £5 instead of the usual £4, so make sure your purchase would be make this worth it

Am new to this site, but I have just been turned down for an egg card to transfer a balance. I have an existing loan with them but have just transferred a balance to a different card.Am trying to sort out my finances at long last. I'm not sure what to do now. Is it worth me applying for another one? I checked my credit score and its good and I never miss any payments. Any advice would be appreciated.

    Hi,

I recently paid off all my debt and before this happened I had a good credit score. When I checked it again after my debt had been cleared it had actually got worse. On checking with the CRA in question I was told that the score was only relevant to the CRA and was not seen by outside lenders effectively making the score useless. So the credit score would appear to be a waste of time.

On another note I understand that if you apply for multiple forms of credit within a short time of each other this can actually be detrimental to your credit record.

Good Luck with sorting out your finances :)
