this may seem like a basic question, but can i get a cc to pay off my overdraft? I have 1000 od with barclays and I would like to get a 0% offer to pay it off, are overdrafts debts that can be shifted to cards?
Thanks in advance0 -
Hi everyone i'm new to this board and i know you might find this a bit strange, but can anyone tell me if i can pay one credit card bill with another credit card.
To explain i have just got the amex b.a.card and i have another card with £300 to pay,and i want to pay with the amex to get the avios miles.
I don't want balance transfer i may keep the other card or just not use it again.
With the amex if i spend £1000 within 3 months i get 9000 avios and this £300 would start me off.0 -

I seem to remember that one card I had could not be paid by using another Credit Card but dunno if that is the norm ...If the card can be paid online then the other card will either be accepted or declined so that will tell you or you can probably do it by telephone ..perhaps by an automated system ..suck it and see I guess is the answer0 -
Hey just wanted to give out some info, just applied for balance transfer for natwest card, declined as im a student and i don't have an account with them. So to recap - students only allowed the card if you have a student account with them first!only me0

You can pay a credit card bill with a debit card because the money actually comes out of your bank account.
You can't pay a credit card bill with another credit card in the same way. You have to ask the new card (where you want the balance to be) to do a balance transfer to pay off the old card (where the balance currently is). They will usually charge 3% for a transfer.
Doing a balance transfer doesn't close the existing account, it just pays it off so that balance is reduced by the amount of the transfer. The existing card and account will remain live.We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.

The only cards that can do this are various mbna cards (play.com, amazon.com, virgin)We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.

Advice on balance transfer.
My partner has just been offered the Barclaycard Platinum 22m 0% card and we are thinking of doing some balance transfers.
I currently have £900 worth of personal loan repayments to make over the next 6 months and 12 months worth of dental treatment costs worth £180 a month bringing our total to £330 per month.
I've just gone self-employed and we are saving up to get married this September so we are trying to cut back as much as possible.
We have a little under £3100 worth of 'debt' to pay back over the next 12 months and whilst it is affordable for us to do so we have thought about transferring that debt to the 22 month card and paying a smaller amount over a longer period of time saving us almost £200 a month which we can put towards other things.
My question is (as we think it is worth it) can we 'transfer' loan debt and HP debt to a credit card?0
