Hi, I would appreciate any help.
I have MBNA paltinum card with CL of 16,000. I took it in the first place as i wanted to repay my loan quickly and so i transferred loan amount on to the card and i paid intrest of 5.9%. Now i repaid the whole balance.
Now, I am looking for a new balance transfer to my current account by applying for 0% balance transfer credit card. I am thinking about applying for a new virgin credit card, as i have previously read in forum that i can merge the 2 credit limits [MBNA and Virgin ].
My query is - 1. can i apply fro virgin card despite of having MBNA card? 2. Can i merge the 2 credit limits and ask for balance transfer to my current account? [ I am trying to use the existing credit limit of 16000 to add on to new card.]
Many thanks for the help.0 -

My wife has been offered a fee-free 0% 16 month balance transfer by Santander. I have an Egg Money card with a zero balance and have used it in the past as a staging point for balance transfers on their way into a savings account.
Is this still possible with the Egg Money card, and is it possible in view of it being my card and not my wife's?

Hi - a bit of info on this which may help others.
I signed up for this thro this site and transferred about £1300. I recently realised that I was being charged interest so I phoned them today to find out why.
I had a bit of a problem with the set up of the DD at the beginning; I gave them my details but it took over 2 weeks for them to set it up and I missed the first payment as a result, tho I paid it by phone as soon as I realised what had happened. They charged me a £15 late payment fee but agreed it was their fault and so refunded the charge.
What I was told today was that a late payment means that I have violated their terms and therefore am no longer entitled to the 0% deal. The operator agreed again that it wasn't my fault and has promised to fill out a "default and lose" form which will request that the 0% be reinstated. The only way that I will know the decision is whether they charge me on the next statement... I'll let you know but the operator seemed very confident it would be reinstated and the interest refunded. I asked her to make a note that if not I would be transferring to another card and pursuing them for interest paid.
Anyway, the main point for me was that I had no idea that if you "defaulted" you can lose the 0% deal. Don't know if this applies across the board, but it applies to RBS, so it could be an expensive mistake to make!

Hi all
I've been reading through the CC BT deals on the site, however I know that I wont be able to pay off my balance in 12 or 18 months and would therefore like one of the long term low rate cards. Barclaycard Simplicity keeps being mentioned, but as my current balance is on a Barclaycard Platinum, I can't have one of these.
Are there any other long term low rate cards about??? Or am I better off trying to get a Simplicity deal through the Barclaycard loophole??
ThanksChallenges - repay all credit cards by end of 2015Starting the savings for retirement :rotfl:

Have just tried to set up balance transfer with Barclaycard from this site, the first attempt was rejected as it stated I had been timed out over 30 mins when it's a simple form and took a matter of several minutes only. The second attempt was told the site was down. Is this a genuine offer, or have I been had at my very first attempt at sorting self out.0
