Have just tried to set up balance transfer with Barclaycard from this site, the first attempt was rejected as it stated I had been timed out over 30 mins when it's a simple form and took a matter of several minutes only. The second attempt was told the site was down. Is this a genuine offer, or have I been had at my very first attempt at sorting self out.
I've been through it twice - I think the volume of people from Martin's newsletter applying has brought the site down.0 -
Thanks for that, bit paranoid about using banking details, good luck with your attempts.0

I noticed afterwards that it says minimum income of £20,000 and that the BT should represent less than 10% of your income. My income is only £16,000 but I was still accepted and there was no indication that I would be for less than the amount of the balance transfers.
Is it possible that when they send me the details they will let me know my credit limit and it may be less? I'm sure it didn't say what the credit limit would be after it told me I was accepted.
I was accepted on 27th Dec, got an email yesterday saying welcome to barclaycard and stating my credit limit - a generous £9800:D
Card came today! Very impressed with how quick!0 -
Title: do you have to Balance Transfer altogether?
just doing my first every BT, and any tips much appreciated.
do you have to do the BT all in one go?
I applied for a MBNA card today, surprised to get it agreed immediately, albeit with a low-ish credit limit.
in the application I put down the amount to BT from my existing Halifax credit card. However I had a large pending spend on the Halifax card for a computer, which hasn't yet been processed and thus wasn't showing on the online statement.
I would like to add this debt to the 0% BT deal with MBNA, up to the credit limit. Then prioritize paying off the remainder.
would this invalidate the terms on the MBNA card?
many thanks0 -
Hi guys,
I got my Barclaycard Platinum through today and called right away to do a balance transfer for the deal I saw on here
Longest 0% deals: For a one-off 2.9% fee, new Barclaycard Platinum* cardholders who pass a credit check (min. income £20k) get 0% for 17 mths.
The customer service rep said I didn't have that deal and could only offer me 9 months at 0% with 3% fee or life of the balance at 6.9%. I registered online and the same deals were in my BT zone in my account.
Anyone know what's going on?0 -
Hi everyone,
I applied for the Barclaycard 0% for 17 months with £20 for transferring £3k when I saw the offer on this site. My card arrived yesterday and I just called to activate it and transfer a balance. The man I spoke to said the Platinum card has 0% for 16 months, not 17 and the £20 for balance transfers was not recognised.
Has anyone else had a similar experience?
I'm not sure what to do0 -

Yep me too but I got a even worse offer. Someone should check this out0 -
hi have a 10k debt currently on a 0% virgin card about to expire was wondering whether to swap to new one for 17 months with I think 2.9% fee or go for the barclaycard simplicity. Would love to pay off in the 17 months but wonder whether it would work out cheaper on low interest for longer. As realistically would be able to pay 300 a month so there fore would most probably have to pay another transfer fee Any ideas? thanks in advance0

guys, a little tip from someone to loves to travel and shop! The Halifax Clarity credit card allows you to use your card ANYWHERE in the world, and they do not charge any fee / commission at all. No charge for the card itself either.
not sure about balance transferring, etc, but its great if you travel a lot
Just wanted to let other money savers know xx0 -
I have 4 credit cards but only two of them in debt.
santander zero - £2k, 0% deal ends beginning of April
virgin cc - £3k, 6.9% for life of balance
hsbc cc - just paid off, usually paid of balance in full monthly
tesco cc - haven't used it for couple of years, only just
realised I hadn't cancelled it
I also have another tesco card under bf's card which we buy food on only, don't know if this will affect anything.
I obviously need to get another card soon to replace the 0% zero card. I've been offered a guaranteed 0% non-fee cc from santander. Obviously I don't now how much the credit limit will be on this one and you can't transfer from other santander cards, but I could use it to transfer virgin to 0%. So what's by best bet on the zero card? Call tesco or hsbc and see if they'll give me 0% offer? Help appreciated please.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0
