Yes no more getting up early to bag a coffee. From an email to Octopus Pros* today.

Introducing the Monday Scratchcard: fairer free coffees, even more prizes

Tens of thousands of treats, from free coffees to tasty snacks, dinner delivery discounts, chocolate bars and more will be up for grabs weekly to make Mondays a little more bearable

*Please note it says only octopus pros will be getting early access to the scratch card this week* so don't ask why if you don't see it.

*Whats an octopus pro? Someone that has been drinking a lot of free coffee apparently

Not sure it this warrants it's own thread but this will hopefully keep discussions off the other octopus threads.

I've not been drinking a lot of free coffee because the coffees are always gone before I get there ☹️

Looking forward to seeing if the scratch card scheme means I am more successful!

Edit: email just landed, will see what I get tomorrow 🙂

Strangely lots of coffee here but not a pro so that bit is wrong.

Normally you have to get up at 6am or so to bag the free Greggs or Cafe Nero coffee. I just can't be bothered!

So having all day to play the game will be an improvement hopefully - I note the Greggs offer now seems to include a free cold drink which is handy for the summer.

No idea if I am an Octopus pro though - I will no doubt find out tomorrow!

So, to make it fairer, the ones who got all the free coffee get all the new treats too? How is that fair?

Ah ok just received the email. Sounds good that it's fairer for all and we all have the same chance at the freebies.

I suspect those not selected as a pro still get to claim a free coffee? And have a better chance of one?

They mean it's a soft float of the programme with it only available to this category of participant this week, and from then on everyone gets the same chance.

You either win something on the scratch card or not, and one of the types of prize you can win is coffee (wether you drink it or not presumably)

nothing on scratchcard for me. I usually get a free tea every week and I never get up early to get it, usually about 10 am later in the week. I've got another free tea this week as they're doing the normal one plus scratchcard one.
