Good afternoon all,
I made it an early (ish) start to the allotment. Took my cuppa as well as water, and only realised about 3 hours later that I had forgotten to have breakfast! Came home with some pickings, both mine and gifted from other allotmenteers. I am now trying rather half heartedly to write some sort of meal plan for next week. Bathrooms have been s&s’d, wm x 1 out on the line. I bought a couple of packs of new pegs a couple of weeks ago having thrown away all the broken old one, and, in true flylady fashion, it makes me absurdly happy to finally have enough pegs, and the right pegs for the job!! Yes, I probably do need to get out more.
Sending lots of positive flylady vibes to Round for tomorrow xx

Afternoon peeps
Well doogie had me up early again so went down and let her out, left the back door open and slept of the sofa for an hour before DH came down and made a cuppa, supped with a handful of biscuits.
Breakfast became a use up of the oranges that I'd had for the scones earlier in the week, so fresh OJ followed by the rest of the fruit.
Bathroom was S/S'ed after my shower.
We then got the exercises out of the way and I took a run over to see my dad who is doing well. He finally got the results of the MRI scan that he had 2 months ago 🤷♀️ and nothing to worry about as just normal degenerative changes. He's also got an appointment for a 24 hour heart monitor in August. Would love to see the results of that as he rarely sits down.
Saw my older brother who gave me the dates for the next big holiday. August 2027 fingers crossed, for Dad's 90th in Spain. Scheduling for 22 of us should be fun, especially as DS has just started a new role this week which is a 9 month secondment and they wont know if his substantive role will be there to go back to. Dad and my 2 borthers are hoping to drive down to the Costa Del Sol rather than training it like Dad normally does.
I then stopped at Mr Al Dis on the way back and did a proper food shop as DD is starting her journey back from New Orleans shortly, with a 3 hour stopover in Atlanta. Should arrive back to Heathrow around 7am tomorrow. Hopefully her friend's family is picking them up as I will be on the school runs and sitting DGD all day.
Lunch was using up a mushy banana, and the last of a tub of ice cream from last year to make a thick milk shake. Having seen the state of the banana flavoured powder (and realising it expired a long time ago!) I opted for the only other one we had which was, chocolate. It was delicious. Dinner will be a full roast with fresh veg so I am not too worried about a rubbish diet for the rest of the day.
Shopping was put away then I did a little sewing job on the fly net for the back door. We had been suing pegs to keep the weight down but I went into our little independent fabric shop yesterday and bought a metre of curtain weights. Dug out the machine and stitched it in, then as DH wasnt here (no idea where he has gone but could be down the lotty) I managed to rehang it with a few extra tacks to secure it more firmly round the edge. Hopefully it will work a bit better than the mismatched pegs that hung off it previously.
While I had the machine out I did think I could alter some trousers I bought last year in the sale, then got them home and they were completely the wrong size. I used to alter a lot of clothes when I was younger so thought I could do it again, but having tried them on I realised they are just too big so will go in the charity bag.
I've also emptied the DW from last night and put the clean stuff away and reloaded with anything else used today.
I also need to finish the balancing of my spends as when I was doing it while watching the footy last night the bank app decided to shut down for maintenance. so thats the next task.
Kitchen will be cleaned after dinner, including the cupboard fronts I didnt do last week.
Mortgage, paid off!6 -
paperwork admin done and filed or shredded appropriate.
Did just enough to make tge bathroom presentable.
A can of coke had exploded in the fridge in our garden room. The contents of a can of coke can spread a very long way! All cleared up but definitely wasn't on my agenda for today.
Bedlinen changed so I'm looking forward to getting into bed tonight.
Sending best wishes to round for tomorrow.8 -
