Yet another hot one. Still, I managed to drag myself up and into the greenhouse just after 7am (I know that's late for most of you but remember I'm a sloth). Got most of the late-sown tomatoes potted on. Picked and froze basil. PIcked spinach to freeze.
Paid the road tax refund cheque which arrived yesterday into my account, it still fascinates me that I can do that with my phone!
- went for gym swim
- did a lot of archiving at work, hothothot
- picked up swim buddy and had a lovely lake swim surrounded by dragonflies
- finalised packing for short trip tomorrow; not exactly hard as we're on the bike with a topbox, a tank bag and (my choice) a small backpack which does as a handbag.
- caught up with a few emails
- did a few more fruitless searches for overnight accommodation the night before DSS funeral next week; summer prices are eek. Did a begging email to a school friend who'd thought she might be able to put us up.Complicated.
- downloaded some books onto Kindle for the trip.

🎶 Three o'clock in the morning, and it looks like it's going to be another sleepless night 🎶
Not quite true as I went out like a light but I'm awake now, and might be for a while. I have some news. I saw the consultant yesterday and he gave me the results of the tests they did on the thyroid lobe that they removed last month. It's not the best news. It begins with a c. That was a shock - understatement of the year. But, hey, 2026 the year that keeps on giving.
I hope you don't object to me sharing, but you're my friends and you've always been there for me. And I need you now more than ever. I know some of you have walked this path, or a similar path, before me too.
Plan is surgery to remove the rest of my thyroid on Monday. Going for the pre op assessment this afternoon. They're not hanging about are they? Then I'll be on the waiting list to go to the big hospital over the muddy water to be in isolation for three days while I'm radioactive ☢. Nope, that wasn't on my bucket list, but you have to play the cards you're dealt.
The hardest part was telling DS and Pops, but that's done.
And flying was sort of involved as part of my initial response was to look horrified and say 'oh no. I'm going to have to sort out the Cupboard of Doom. I can't leave it for DS to do! 😱' Strange what goes through your mind isn't it?
Some people will do anything to get out of going to work! (I have a fit note for a month and can have another when that runs out.) I have some very supportive colleagues at work but I can't be dealing with the less supportive clowns right now.
And that's it. That's where we're at. Looks like the roller coaster of life ramped up a gear. Grab a duster and hold tight, We're going for a ride.......

Oh round I'm so sorry it wasn't the news you were wanting. But hey they caught it early and they are rushing things through which is a good sign. You have some supportive people around you honey and several of us have either gone through it or are supporting loved ones through it and we will always be there for you good and bad.
If you want to do the RoD then you do it but only until you start treatment. Then we'll nag you to rest up when needed.
Huge hugs from me xx

Well I've been up at my usual 6am and it was lovely to sit outside in the warming morning sunshine with my cuppa listening to the birds going about their early morning duties.
I've also been fairly active too.. For some reason I'm at my best in the early mornings so I get what I can done then..so I've done, in no particular order,:-
- Cleaned the cat tray and refilled with fresh litter
- Swept the floor in the kitchen
- Ordered a cat fountain for the cats and dogs - that's arriving tomorrow so they'll be happy during the heat wave.
- Watered the plants in the garden
- Dead headed roses while I was out there.
- Cleaned out the water from the air con unit.
- Got the chicken out to defrost for tea
- Bagged up the left over crumble and popped in the freezer for another day.
- Ordered my Method cleaners to arrive tomorrow.
- Quick Hotspot of the spare sofa
- Popped the dog bedding in to wash, can hang out to dry later..
Think that's it till later. Off to make a cuppa and sit outside for a little while.

Round, you know that I’ll be thinking of you and holding your hand. You had the sense and bravery to get something strange checked out quickly. You are now in the right system, promptly getting the right treatment, and that system comes up trumps. Like Natty said, if you want to do something to keep busy for a couple of days, feel free (I painted a bedroom…!!), then it’s tlc all the way. We are all here for you, publicly and privately, whatever you feel right at whatever time xx

More enormous, gentle (((hugs))) to you, @roundtuit. We’re here for you xxx
I have folded my pjs and hung up the towels. That completes my flying plans for today 😀
