Finally , this week I have got it going again.

I had to do a complete reset. Following instructions I received in a CS email.

    • Unplug the Home Mini.
    • Press and hold the button on the top of the device.
    • While holding the button, plug the Home Mini back in near your smart meter and within Wi-Fi range. The light should start flashing red.
    • Keep holding the button until the light stops flashing red and turns pink/purple (this usually takes about 15-20 seconds).
    • Wait a minute or two until the light starts flashing blue.

Once it’s flashing blue, open the Octopus app and scan the QR code on the Home Mini to reconnect it to your new Wi-Fi.

Before doing the above I disabled the 5GHz part of the WiFi via the router admin, forcing the OHM connection to the 2.4GHz.

    It worked:)

After turning the 5GHz back on, I then had to go round the house resetting other devices that had been ‘upset’ by the temporary change in the WiFi.

I wish I had been able to find these instructions myself. I’d previously done part of the reset but without scanning the QR code. That seems to have been the missing link.

I have saved the email for future reference.

I just changed internet supplier and followed those exact insctructions somewhere in the app. I did feel at the time that it was a bit hidden and I don't recall exactly where it was but it was there somewhere. So for anyone else I'd say look around the app.

I simply left mine alone and it came back all by itself.

unfortunately I knew that would not be the answer as I had a new router ( and upgraded to full fibre with new provider) which required a new password.
Also I relocated the Octopus Home Mini (OHM) as the router was required to move to be near an outside wall and by chance the OHM was at the farthest point possible from the router. Now the OHM is really close to the smart meter and a few metres from the router.
