Software developers usually have a level of decision making powers. Most software devs hate rolling back code, so will tend to be a bit uncooperative if an update breaks things, instead just working on it from a new baseline. This issue likely isnt even known about at executive level.
But if the device is soft bricked, potentially the code might not even be able to be rolled back either. Likely depends if the wifi element is at least still working.0 -
"I have received feedback about the issue, and I would like to inform you that we will need to update the communication hub to a 4G-compatible version. I have already requested an appointment for this upgrade on your behalf and have noted it on your account."
Had this in an email today. Any idea what this means?

Was 'this issue' an Octopus Home Mini malfunction? If not, what was it?
I'm not being lazy ... I'm just in energy-saving mode.

The issue is that I cannot pair my hub since I changed my internet; it's constantly flashing blue despite multiple attempts to reset it and Octopus saying they've done things on their end

Different to the original post. Try creating a 2.4ghz only WIFI network with AES2 on your new router and reset and repair the Octopus Mini to that.

My mistake; I thought I'd posted on this thread as I've bookmarked it.
I've done the 2.4 network without success. I'll continue to wait on Octopus to explain what they intend to do

Octopus came back to me with a £50 credit unfortunately the mini will no longer work with my SMET1 meter

After changing ISP my mini gave up the ghost and it took Octopus three remote attempts but they did eventually get it back up and running.
My fix is ending in a week so I'm changing suppliers and the mini will end up in a drawer, beside the IHD 😉

Reverting to the original problem - mine has actually been completely find since I posted the thread! I can only assume that either it was indeed something that Octopus were doing which was creating the issue, and they have now stopped doing it, or posting about something on MSE has mythical powers! Either way, I'm happy with the result!
