I have two Barclaycards, one that I use occasionally, just to keep it active, and another one that pays cashback and which I use for just about everything. Today, when logging on to the first card (last logged on in January), I got an 'in your face' message that the online facility will be closing on 19th August. As a result, I set my statement preferences to 'paper only', and I won't bother logging on again. There has been no such message about my main Barclaycard, but if and when it comes I'll look at setting up an account with Barclays online banking - if it's easy to do so. Failing that, I'll go back to paper statements on this account as well.

Why don't I use the app? Because the mobile reception where I live is poor, and sometimes I can't get a signal.

I can only assume that the person, or people, at Barclays who are responsible for this dumb policy are as thick as the proverbial.

I'm a Barclaycard customer and have not been advised of this, I was never emailed it was originally closing on the 10th June and just managed to log in now, my statement is due at the end of the week and I have a bit of cash awards on it. I only use the card for PayPal so have put a different card on that and will cancel Barclaycard when my statement comes through. I'm a bit fed up that they haven't bothered to advise me this was happening and there is no mention of it on the Barclaycard website and I found out from here when I was looking for something else

I have a joint Barclays account and my husband's Barclaycard shows up on the online banking site. Mine doesn't so I have been using the Barclaycard site to view the account and pay my bills. Its been working beautifully for a number of years.

Is it easy to add a Barclaycard to the Barclays online banking site? I haven't tried yet but I don't use a mobile phone so I guess the Barclays App is not particularly relevant to me.

I got the email today but the statements are all in the Barclays app fine at least so I'd imagine they will be fine on the Barclays website

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

I've had the email. I have a Barclaycard, still working with the BCard app and with the BCard website via "https://bcol.barclaycard.co.uk"

I have no Barclays bank accounts, having CASS switched away from Barclays twice. The result being that I can't log in to the Barclays website, nor can I register as a new customer.

I'd prefer to keep the web access so I can download transactions into Microsoft Money on my PC. Looks like I'll have to get on the phone to Barclays.

i have received an email too telling me that my existing login will cease to work on 16 September. That gives me enough time to wait for my Direct Debit to be paid and close the account. I was in the process of switching to Nationwide anyway.

I've been informed about the 16th Sep shutdown.

I use the Barclaycard website because it supports OFX downloads - not available via the Barclays Bank website (despite being supported for current and savings accounts)

The only export options are CSV (with info missing), HTML (which can't be saved) and PDF. None of these are suitable for me to process into OFX.

The upside is that if I complain, they'll offer me money to go away.

Won't really be much of a problem for the next 12 months as my spending gets moved onto a Lloyds Ultra card for 1% cashback. (Barclaycard gives me 0.5% cashback).

Barclays IT is fragmented, with development carried out without input from anyone who actually uses the functionality - If you have (1) current/savings accounts, (2) an investment account, (3) a credit card and (4) a mortgage, and (4) a credit card, you get four different customer experiences with the "qwolity" declining as you move from 1 to 4.

Only had Barclaycard online servicing. Decided to set up the Barclays Online Banking - will have no choice in mid Sept anyway. We don't/won't use an app, so short delay as we waited for 5 digit passcode to arrive by snail mail.

A bit of faffing about, but all sorted in 10 minutes or so, main 'delay' trying to decide on replacement 5 digit numerals. It's as simple to use/navigate as the on-line card servicing. Won't be our 'primary' card any more though, got a Lloyds Ultra last month for the 1% for 12 months cashback offer.

Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.
