Do you use the regular Barclays banking website?
It could be more is going on… certainly the apps the two are now the same, it could be those that already have Barclays banking are just being redirected behind the scenes to the normal Barclays banking pages and its only showing the closed pages to those that exclusively use the former barclaycard service

I have Barclays Bank accounts but have a browser shortcut that takes me directly to the Barclaycard site login. I don’t think I’ve ever gone to it via the main Barclays site.
I suspect as suggested it’s likely a phased closed down and we will all be affected eventually.

Barclaycard is my only relationship with them

You have a log in and can log in, the OP doesnt and cant… so far my theory is holding up rather well.
Why would they do a phased approach? What benefit are they getting -v- simply switching it off/switching it to the Barclays system? Would take more effort to phase it off than flick the switch

I've just logged onto my Barclays online banking, and checked my current account transactions and my Barclaycard transactions.
After logging out of that I logged into the separate Barclaycard site using my Barclaycard username and different passcode and memorable word, and could still see all the same details and transactions relating to my Barclaycard there too.
I've had no notifications of the Barclaycard site closing, and I use both sites often.
How does that fit with people's theories? 🤔

Same here. I have 2 different logins, one for the main Barclays site and a completely different one for the Barclaycard site. Both work and both allow me to see Barclaycard transactions but the sites are different and present the information differently.

It looks as if they are doing a phased shutdown. I knew nothing about all this until I received an email from Barclaycard today, 8th July 2026, telling me that Barclaycard Online Servicing is closing in August and after that I will have to use the app or set up a login on Barclays Online Banking. At the moment the old website still works for me. There is no message on the website warning of the closure.
I can think of reasons why they wouldn't want to change everything on one day. It could cause them capacity problems with everyone changing to online banking at once, for instance. Maybe different customers are catered for on different back-end servers. There could be all sorts of reasons. Probably neither of my two examples are correct but I expect they know what they are doing.

Email received on Wednesday…..
"our Barclaycard online servicing is being replaced on 19 August 2026. We understand that a change like this can be unexpected, but this won’t affect your account or how you use your card in any way.
Please keep using the Barclays app, as it’s a great way to manage your account.
We just want to remind you how to make your payments, how to access support and give you a heads up about your statements.
Before closing Barclaycard online servicing, we will be replacing it with an alternative way to access features you may currently use. This will be through Barclays Online Banking, a secure service you can access with a web browser.
To register for Barclays Online Banking, grab your Barclaycard and visit barclays.co.uk. Then select ‘Log in’ at the top of the page, followed by ‘Register now’."

Talk about bad timing. I have just completed a switch instruction from Barclays to Co-op Bank in order to receive the £300 switching incentive on offer.
I will still be left with a Barclaycard product accessible by mobile phone app, but now wondering if I will lose the ability to download transaction data in .csv format.
I know it's possible to download pdf information but it's a bit of a pain to convert the information into a formatted excel spreadsheet.
Modern day problems - sigh!0 -
I still have access to the Barclaycard website.
I'm also able to access barclaycard info via the Barclays Bank website, but the ability to download transactions has been severely crippled - Barclays Bank website offers PDF, HTML (unscrapable), and CSV
The CSV formatting is terrible with random double quotes, and the two description fields merged with random use of double quotes and insertion of 0 to 3 tab characters.
Meanwhile on the Barclaycard website you had a choice of PDF, CSV (with a sensible format), OFX, OFC, and QIF.
So it looks as if I will be losing the OFX downloads for MS Money, and I'll be reduced to converting the CSV data to QIF format with yet another Perl script.
