Thanks beanie, DITR, foxgloves and spendless ☺️
It was a nice boost as I’ve been feeling a bit 💩 since chemo, so it’s a reminder that there’s a light at the end of the tunnel!

Chuffed for you. You’re completely entitled to it but I’m glad it’s made for a pick-me-up and gives you something to really look forward to 😊.

Surprising how it adds up! Including bank holidays we get 8 weeks off. I can’t remember how many weeks I had and the tax man obviously took a chunk, but still ☺️
When I eventually go back to full work I’ll have a lot of AL entitlement built up again. I’m not booking any much off at the moment as I’m doing such minimal hours anyway…

We can sell our leave back to work if you’ve accumulated too much. Personally mine is too precious to sell but can see how people in your situation accumulate too much. We can carry 10 days over but I rarely carry over more than 5 days.
On the travel insurance front it’s worth shopping around. I do ours through M0ney Supermarket although Mr SA is 13 years cancer free so classed as cured. I still declare it though plus his various ailments and disabilities.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping) -.literally have been run over by a bike, mobility scooter and a car - still here 💪3 -
Thanks SA
They’re really strict with us, no carrying over. Use it or lose it. Makes sense as they massively struggle with staffing as it is… in my department, currently running on 70% agency. Horrifically expensive 🤢
Most of my treatment will be completed by December, although immunotherapy will run until April. Apparently the first 3-5 years are the most pricy and that you must get full cover. I’ve heard horror stories of people opting out of ‘cancer related illnesses’ and then getting stung. Ie broken leg ‘oh well, your bones were weak because of cancer treatment so not covered’ etc
My friend had colon cancer 3 years ago and I think she said her annual premium was around £1k and that was the cheapest she’s managed since diagnosis 😔

I booked 4 adult cinema tickets for next weekend and it was £60 🤢. Usually I go during the day and on a weekday which is must cheaper. Ouch. It’s coming out of the entertainment pot and it’s the only time that the older teens were free, but I’m still twitching a bit 😂
