The whole cancer thing has definitely made me worry less about my appearance. Not in that I’ve suddenly let myself go, but more that if I see previous pictures (pre treatment) of myself I realise I was pretty harsh on myself 🤔
Money wise, it’s been a quiet week. We did get a rare takeaway last night to celebrate the end of term. £45 for 6 of us, so not too bad… I took it out of our entertainment budget as that had spare in it.
Looking ahead to summer hols, there’ll be 2 weeks I won’t be well enough to do much. 2 weeks we’re going away. So 2 weeks to fill 😁.. we have a cinema within walking distance so will go there a couple of times. We usually make good use of our NT membership too.

I think the majority of women are our own worse critics! I certainly am.
Sounds like you’ve got summer covered, just don’t over do it.

My latest blood tests were borderline for chemo this week. I’ve been anaemic for about 6 weeks (normal side effect of chemo), but they’re now discussing me having a blood transfusion… I’ll have one if they deem it necessary but I’m not overly keen. WBC and neutrophils also only slightly above minimum required numbers 🥴
So it’s going ahead but it was tight. It’s odd as I feel perfectly fine in myself, probably the best I have in a few weeks!
Money wise we’re all good, we get paid on Wednesday and have £80 left with no spends planned tomorrow. Feel like we’ve scraped through this month, so many expenses 🙄DFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)

July is crazy expensive when you have kids. I’d put a note on my diary to say June was expensive last year, but July has been on another level.

I topped up the car with petrol this morning, so that was £55. I’ll just leave the £25 in our current account as I’m sure we’ll get clobbered in August too 😂
Did some work this morning, chilling this afternoon.
Going to take kids to see m!n!on movie tomorrow, I had vouchers for it. I don’t buy snacks there, I bought a few packs of har!bo in Friday’s shop so will make them up a bag each. Sweet prices at the cinema are rude…

Blood transfusions for anaemia are a revelation. You go in feeling rubbish, then a few pints (well, something like that!) later, come out feeling rejuvenated!
Good plan to make up sweetie bags for the cinema - extra brownie points for going for chewy, rather than crunchy options too. I refuse to pay for the cinema any more because all too often struggle to hear the film over the rustling, crunching and rattling noises!

Thanks EH, I’m not sure why but the thought of a blood transfusion gives me the ick. I wouldn’t refuse one, but not rushing either. Although feeling rejuvenated would be nice, I feel 30 years older than I am 😂
Chemo day today, never look forward to it, but good to get another one done. 2 left.
DHs salary came in today, so that was a welcome rejuvenation of our bank account! Pots and transfers all done. I get paid the beginning of next week ☺️

Can they not give you an iron infusion rather than a blood transfusion?
