I have had success!!! I thought about what you said about soaking it in hot water and then when I was washing up this morning I realised I was still doing most it one handed keeping the bad finger pointing at the ceiling. Well it had already had a good soaking when I had a shower so I made a considered effort to keep it in the water. I was able to get some nail scissors to cut away a fair bit and then the last bit just fell off. Fortunately NOT taking any of my finger with it. It looks fairly well healed but is still a bit ouchy likely as the nerves are still sorting themselves out but it's a bit of a relief!!!

Car insurance time of year, I:

• Did the comparisons
• Bought the insurance
• Cancelled the auto renew on the current policy
• Cancelled the auto renew on the new policy
• Downloaded and filed the paperwork
• Downloaded and set up the relevant app
• Recorded the cost in the spreadsheet

Great to know it's dealt with for the next 12 months. I also saved over 10 % (insert spinning Martin Lewis head).

It's nice to finally have a bit of headspace to think about things like that.

I painted the wall for about 2h yesterday, and I'm about to go out and do another 2. No shandy this time @Soontobeoap I might treat myself to a pink lemonade instead. Possibly in my disco ball cup. I need something to cheer me along.

Bought a washing machine. Carried all 11kg of it to the bus and then home and was then too tired to use it 🤦‍♂️

@welshmansdaughter you must be built like super woman.well done for getting it home. I can't even begin to imagine how you did that. Did you have a lift trolly thing? Did someone help you on and off the bus? Did the machine block the whole isle with people having to climb over it at their stop? 😂. Please tell us more.

I have been really cracking on with my list in the garden. This sunny weather is motivating me to get it all done before the rain comes. Cleaned up and painted a very low wall beside the decking yesterday, also cleaned and sanded, 5 window ledges ( they still need the electric sander to make them smooth before I can paint). Also cleaned and sanded bench that has been fixed hoping to get at least one more summer out of it. Cut back and poisoned an old apple. Tree which is where I want the bench to go and generally did a bit of tidying. We paid a gardener 2 weeks ago to come and dig out and weed my 2 borders each side of our very small garden. Honestly We paid £200 for 2 of them to clear 2 borders down each side. They were here an hour and a half which included them driving off to the shop to get some cold fizzy cans of drink and they basically weed killed the whole lot and went. I only got them in to save my poorly shoulder. DH said he would do it before they came but I was worried that I would lose a lot of plants. I have anyway! 😥. Still it is now a blank canvas and I am inspired to make it look good again.

I got back from my mini cruise today. I didn't particularly enjoy it as I was still feeling a bit under the weather from my cold last week. I felt carsick from the taxi ride to the port on the way there and then I felt ill for a couple of days as the water got choppy at night. I felt okay (typically) from last night just before we were supposed to go home this morning! I'm actually very glad to be back at home. I did two loads of laundry from the break and have started a bag for a charity donation.

I have cancelled my plans for next weekend so I called the kennel to cancel for my dog and I am going to just rest and recover at home this week. The house needs a good clean and I am going to start on my mountain of books so they can be donated too.

All I have is a walk this week and I might not even go to my class tomorrow. I just ordered some things from Amazon to be delivered for tomorrow. It was just basic things like vitamins, food storage containers etc…

I won't be on any rush to go on another cruise. It reminded me of being trapped in a Premier Inn as it felt so enclosed to me!😁 My husband didn't particularly enjoy it either. Oh well, at least I tried it out with a short cruise as it would have been a bit of a problem if we had started out with a Caribbean cruise as we were going to!

I need to book us both haircuts with our new mobile hairdresser and myself a pedicure tomorrow.
