I think the reason the silver ones are on offer at the moment is the newer sets are all glossy black so it seems a good deal from Costco IMO.0

Thanks Edinburghlass - the current Philips ones from John Lewis are poor and will need to go back. Sound is really poor on them.
Might get these from Costco if they are a good buy..This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Well after the poor experience with Philips ID937 Duo I have got the ones from Costco mentioned in above post.
The reviews for the Panasonic ones seem much better than these Philips one which were dreadful, although look lovely!! the sound was shocking and I should have taken more notice of the reviews already provided in the link below

Can't remember whether I've already posted on here but after great dissatisfaction with the sound breaking up on a Philips system (and no help from their Customer Service Department either), we recently bought a Panasonic system with four phones. We're very pleased with it. The sound (loudspeaker quality) is excellent and we like the large digital display feature on them which is ideal for those whose eyesight is not as good as it used to be.0

I just purchased AT&T Model. We were pleasantly surprized at this phone. It was easy to set up and program. Didn't take long to enter names and numbers in the memory. The phone is easy to use and has terrific reception, with no static or "soft spots". Yeah one can quibble that the volume control is really in the wrong place, but that is similar to my cell phone as well and it really doesn't detract from the quality of the phone. The answering machine is clear and you can listen to it while monitoring the call (which the Panasonic for some reason didn't do!). All in all a very satisfactory purchase.0

Hi - could someone recommend a good cordless phone with speaker facility and caller ID?0

Hi could you good people help me. I am looking for a cordless phone (pref 2 handsets) for my hard of hearing mother. needs to be loud ring and voice. There are a number of specialist makers on the market but they seem to have very mixed reviews and expensive.
I have to return the normally good Panasonic phones i bought for her as she cannot hear them ring or voice.
Thanks0
