Surprised no-one has mentioned Siemens, which I believe are very good phones. But Philips or Panasonic are probably the best. Try the Philips SE155 or the Panasonic KXTG642 seriesSquirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

having seen most of these in action i can can without a doubt that the best cordless phones are made by panasonic and siemens. However the Siemens models are very very very expensive for the home user to even consider. The best ones i have seen in recent weeks is the Panasonic KX-TG8421, Panasonic KX-TG8422, Panasonic KX-TG8423, & Panasonic KX-TG8424 which are single, twin, trio and quad packs respectively. The best place i have seen to buy them on the web is bigboxshop.co.uk0

This is probably the silliest queston ever so I apologise now for my stupidity...
I have a digital cordless phone with one handset but now we're moving into a house we need more handsets presumably that means we have to get a brand new one and bin the other one and that we can't buy another handset?0 -
No, probably not. You can usually register up to 5 handsets with a GAP compatible DECT base station so buying from ebay (or obtaining from a local Freecycler) extra handsets/charger pods may be the cheapest solution.
I just picked up a Philips fax with DECT handset for 99p + postage off ebay and registered another handset I had lying around to it without difficulty.
OTOH, I've Freecycled at least 5 complete (working) DECT sets (2, 3 and 4 handsets) so you may be able to replace the whole shebang.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Hi Guys,
Currently I have 3 cordless phones in the house which are manufactured by binatone. They are around 2-3 years old and now have become very poor in terms of performance and battery life.
What would you recommend to purchase that has long range and good battery life please?
I have seen these - w*w.shop.bt.com/articles/promotions/shareholder-5279.html
Any good?
Thanks0 -
