Nelski....I can't speak for the rest of them but my contribution to the party was Old Style Baileys' truffles.

Can't seem to stomach them myself.

Welcome Chocolateorange :hello:
Nice to see you Fizzel and Panda.
Sorry you had a bad day yesterday UpseyDaisy
I've just finished a late lunch of HM sausage rolls. I also made some stuffing ones as I had lots of pastry and leftover stuffing from Christmas and they went down a treat.
Lunch was late as I've been doing more decluttering and cleared out the dresser which is like a tardis. OH is off to the dump for the second time with junk and recyling and I have sorted out a pile of magazines to cut recipes from later.
Still not dressed.
I tell myself I can't spare the time to do it. (and then come on here instead)
Bye for now...

Haribo what on earth have chocolateorange, fizzel, panda and upseydaisy done that you can't stomach them???
Did you mean the baileys truffles? (Ahhh, you've corrected it now!)
DS, DD and I have had a busy afternoon. Christmas tree and decs are now safely stashed away in the loft. Chicken is roasting as we speak and the hm lentil soup is almost ready. Sandwiches are made for tomorrow's lunches and uniforms are all ironed. DD is now finishing off her art project and DS is having a break from his art project (though it is over an hour since he disappeared to have his "little" break.).
The living room has been hoovered (then I had to empty the machine  - nasty, dusty job) and I have started reclaiming my kitchen from the ever-present mess that was Christmas. I will have to make another loaf today though as DS is eating hm bread as though it was going out of fashion.
Just popped on here as I was helping DD research Klimt and Mondrian on t'internet for her art project. Well, that's my excuse!
Hope everyone is feeling better. I could have earned GB a gold medal in the coughing olympics today. Need to go as DS is begging for some hm soup and bread. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Well good afternoon everyone.
That seemed a bit of a party last night! Sorry I missed it but there were one or two comments flying. HJ - your description of DH and hoover had me rolling around with laughter. Hope the burning smell has gone!
Happy birthday to Tatty and welcome to the teenage years for Miss Jock!!!!!!!! Not easy for your mum!!!!!!!! It gets better honest Jock. I sometimes despaired about our DD but here she is 27, married to a wonderful guy and mother to my beautiful boys! You are just embarking.
Crazychick - should have mentioned before. Your cards were so much commented on (more than once). MIL again said today what a lovely card and she is keeping it because of the Robins. Thank you so much.
There are quite a few folk on here who are feeling a bit poorly (DH also - I think the graveyard did for him yesterday as a biting wind). Hope you all feel better soon. Odds - sounds horrendous. Hope you are OK (PenPin too). Need to ask you PenPin about the code for the flowers on line - will pm when I get the chance.
Special mention to Twink and family plus Kyle. Will think about you on Tuesday.
Well have got a lot done today. Cleared the ironing, put stuff in the l**t plus cleared stuff out from there; made up bed for a friend coming to stay on Wednesday; made Mamade marmalade for DH; bought coffee stuff for work tomorrow; had a bath; sorted out my car, taking in pram from boot and re-arranging the boys' car seats (after the Karting last weekend!) etc etc.
Having pre-cooked Pork roast and last of vegs tonight together with excess gravy previously frozen (pork was yellow stickered of course and about 10 portions for £3.00.
Holiday in May needs to be paid for (with DD, SIL and DGSs) and more than enough money available. I can't believe how much I have been saving over the last year. DH is really into the hunt for the yellow sticker stuff now retired so that helps too. Having Lidl now on our doorstep is a bonus also.
Thank you one and all for your help and support over the last year. I know I don't always mention everyone and the thanks now from work a no no but all your posts mean a lot to me.
Supposed to see friends last night for a wee drink, postponed until tonight because of lurgy but not a session as I have work tomorrow.
Back to work tomorrow after 2 weeks off - ugh!
Love and hugs to all and thanks for just over a year in this wonderful community.

Hi everyone. Well christmas decs are now down and in loft. Been looking for my BM it's in the loft somewhere and has been since we moved (like neary 2 years ago!!!) Not that there is anywhere for it to live in kitchen-hardly any storage, in the old house we had a utility room with loads of storage!!!!!! I really miss my storage!!! Novelty of being nice coz it's my birthday soon wore off. Kids have been arguing almost constantly all day and everytime I talk to them or OH they look at me like I'm from the planet Zot and there is a language barrier-not how I envisaged my day to be!!!! So I'm feeling pretty Cr*p and not birthday like at all. They keep discussing among themselves why mum is mardy and bad tempered!!! Mummy would just have appreciated a nice family day and not constant hassle and aggravation!!!
Rant over. Trying to feel calmer now!!!GE 36 *MFD may 2043

Try to keep up with the tramadol if you can, yes it does make you feel like you are flying at first.. But it sure is a great painkiller. Having it regular is your best option. It does make pain bearable (ish)
Not sure what you have been recommended but if you take some in the morning it helps with the get up and go. At bedtime it helps get a nights sleep.
I have to take 150mg 4 times a day. After a very bad shattered leg. I can still tell when its time to take my medication. Its the only thing i have found that helps towards a 'normalish' life..
Hope the pain subsides for you soon oddsfurrypig says:my name is Choccy and I am addicted to nose free stamps as I want to save them all and give them noses!!!:rotfl:
About me. Im Choccy or Chocolate orange depending on where i am.Yes occasionally i am a total looon who spends too long online, but no where near as much £ as her spendy elves do ..:D0 -
Odds - I have a pile of ironing (and a DVD of Pirates 3) to keep you away from the boredom threshold (yeah, right!) you are most welcome to come and try it!
Try not to overdose those paracetamol ... think ... kidneys!!!
tattycath - ((hugs)) as far as the dk's and dh are concerned, your birthday began and ended with the presents in bed this morning
It takes time (years!) but, eventually, they may get the message. In the meantime, console yourself that you have a family that is au naturel and doesn't feel the need to put on airs and graces
(small comfort, but for those who have endured those times, they will fully appreciate what I mean
) Also, do consider what *you* mean by "a nice family day". Are you, just maybe, expecting an *ideal* rather than reality?
We, as a society, but particularly females, are spoonfed an ideal of "normal" that sometimes the edges get a bit ... blurred? To me, my lads having an adolescent tiff, *is* the "norm"; do I want them any different? No! To be different would be .. well, unmentionable
(just read the news for an alternative!).
Your day may not have ended as you hoped it may - but, hey, what a great start!
They love you; they feel free and unimcumbered enough to be "themselves"; it may not match your ideal, but it does speak volumes about the way you are bringing your children up: non inhibited; free spirited; caring enough to give "Mum" a special morning; and the freedom to be who they are! And that is: Children!
Give it a few years ... they may just realise where you are coming from; but in the meantime ... bless them, each and every one! Birthday or no birthday, they are your loved one's ((hugs))
PS: from years of experience, sometimes, the only way to get the day *we* would like it to be ... is to put it in WRITING/make it CLEAR (after all, no one is a mind reader, no matter how much we think they ought to be
! That way there are no misunderstandings
