Morning! have yet to read the thread but I will later!
Got a busy day here, have done DS1s washing ready for him to take back tonight when he goes back to his lodgings, done all the ironing, cleaned the house, changed the bed, put the rubbish out ready for tomorrow and in a minute am going recycling - got a lot of glass jars etc.Plans for later are to cook the roast, visit my mum who has been on holiday and then take DS1 home to Bromsgrove again.
Sunny but frosty here. hope you are all having a nice sunday, will catch up later xx:wave:Do what you love :happyhear0 -
Hi again
Just popped back to say the last of the decs are down and put away but the kitchen will have to wait.
Have now made myself presentable enough to nip down to the pet store for a new flying ring, the kichen will have to wait until later
I`ve just logged in to put my last 3 months meter readings into the SP website and the electricity was a very acceptable £63 which was a nice one, looks like the economy 7 is paying off now that we`re using it properly.
The gas was pretty horrific at £143
needless to say that the heating is now off and will start to stay off a hell of a lot more!
Have a good day everyone.

ps tattycath i`m copying the banana bread recipe for future referencePlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
Glad to hear (nearly) everyone is enjoying their Sunday!
I'm feeling productive as have done the Asda shop, put the slow cooker on for dinner, am making soup for work tomorrow and bread in the BM. Have also emptied the WM once and loaded it a second time. Decorations are half down - at last! Need to get them all away and then can give everywhere a dust and vacuum and then I think I'll be ready to go back to work tomorrow with a clean and reasonably organised house.
One last question - someone on here once directed me to a website where you can list left over ingredients and it recommends dishes to use them up. Any one know this or have any other suggestions? Thanks in advance!Wandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...0 -

Hi again all, I've had a fantastic day baking up a storm in the kitchen with recipes from my new book i love it! So far I have made a tia maria gateaux but used kahlua instead and a chocolate banana cake is baking as we speak yummmmmy. The book even tells you how to make french pain de campagne rustique which i love but it is sooooo expensive to buy. Not surprising tho as you have to make the chef for it abut three days before you can bake it. Very involved but can't wait to give it a go. Might start the chef off today with a view to baking the bread on tues/weds. Anyhoo, gotta go check my baking cake would be MOST upset if i managed to cremate it.Proud to have dealt with my debts. Oooh there's a thought, running off with the milkman! Sadly, they are a dying breed around here! The only bump and grinding I've been doing it with the wretched Christmas tree - I luv, lurve, LOVE Christmas and the decorations and the build up and the smells and the secrets and the presents and the food ... loathe the putting everything away! I've bumped into it; ground my teeth because one part refuses to dislodge from another part no matter how much I pull, tug, scream, shout, cajole or jump on it! And how come, when you've taken *all* the decorations OFF the tree and you're carefully bending back those false-drag-it-out-annually branches there's always one ornament that has nestled its way into the boughs and refuses to come out until you've snapped off the tie on?
Only one tree left to do and that can wait until after my rather late lunch!
wannasavemoney - congrats on your bake-a-thon!!What time is sampling time?
The book even tells you how to make french pain de campagne rustique which i love but it is sooooo expensive to buy. Not surprising tho as you have to make the chef for it abut three days before you can bake it.
Welcome chocolate.orangeChicken stock isn't as scarey as people think - just one thing, do let it cool thoroughly so the fat sits on the surface of the chicken stock "jelly", then you can skim it off. Otherwise, it makes the stock taste really greasy! Oh and yes, when it cools, it's *meant* to look jelly-like! When you reheat it, it will liquify once again. Have fun
