Please count me in @grandmanerd . #18 would be fab!
Saw a post on FB today, saying that tomorrow is also Naked Gardening Day. Though I live in the countryside, I am next to a main road, so to avoid causing any accidents, by blinding drivers with my brilliant white skin, I'm going to give this a miss! 🤣
After my shoulder felt 95% better last month, I started doing wall press ups each day. I now do them by leaning on my kitchen worktop, whilst the kettle is boiling. My shoulders & wrists both seem a bit stronger. Also managed to do 3 yootoob exercise routines this week & 100 skips today. Hoping to skip every day this month, apart from a few days that me & DH are away.
Sat & read my book in the garden for 25mins after work today. Need to practice more self-care this month, especially as it's the first anniversary of DS1's passing.
Grateful for having a long weekend, time to read my book outside, hearing the bees buzzing around the pretty flowers in my garden

I made it to the pharmacy and put in my pills order. Went by bus both ways. They have moved the bus stop further away from the corner (the shelter has still not been put back). They haven't checked the lines of sight because the post of the traffic lights completely obscured the bus numbers. Luckily mine was the only single decker. It was quite pleasant sitting in the sunshine waiting but would have been oppresive if the sun had been hotter.
At the infirmary I visited one of my favourite toilets before hobbling back to the bus stop. I got off at the Community shop - it was getting late and they were starting to restock. I managed to get one of the multi packs of Scotch eggs, 5 veg for a £ (5 onions, flat lettuce, cucumber, peas and carrots) plus some frozen mixed veg and some chocolate biscuits. I signed up to the new membership scheme (via an i-pad). Then I began the very slow hobble back home. Paused before approaching the crossing, sat on the end of the church wall, took the diagonal through the churchyard and had another rest by the side door.
I heard someone asking if I needed help. Neighbour from no. 8 was walking his dog. He told me to stay where I was and he would come back to help me. He walked the dog and took her back home, then came back. He took the heavy bag and walked slowly beside me, holding onto the walker where the ground sloped. I asked him to put the heavy bag inside, got myself and the other bags inside, crawled onto the bed and pulled my shoes off. I ate from the shopping bags and have been resting ever since. I think I slept a couple of times (watching the finale of an early Taskmaster series). I've watched a couple of Grantchester episodes (still 3 series to go).
I'm grateful for the pill ordering and delivery service, lovely toilets and making it back home (I may need to strap my ankle up if it is still aching tomorrow).
A warm welcome to all participating turtles - apple and f0xh0les didn't fight over being the first. I have a number of inspirational/ helpful posts and we may have Orcoscopes - that is horoscopes done by an Orc. A unique view on some familiar ideas and some new.

Well done beanie 🥳🥳🥳
Pinch punch first of the month!!!!! Sorry I missed it earlier - I was out of the house just after 7. It's been a full on day. It was 'only' invigilating, but I garnered 15000 steps!!! I kept my pants on!
Pip had a day of humungous independence, the likes of which hasn't been seen in a lonnng time. Yay!
Today I am grateful for working, for washing drying very quickly, for Pip taking himself hither and thither, for cold water, for fresh bed linen, for tomorrow being Saturday .

ORCOSCOPE
Your daily horoscope, from an Orc
April 26, 2026
Today got too-many-thoughts buzzing round skull. Brain keep pokin same problem with stick like maybe dis time it confess. It won't. Dis a overthink day, and it can turn one tiny choice into full war map.
If you catch yourself making 13 plans fer one lil move, stop dat. Pick one thing. Do dat thing. Then let rest of day grunt in background. You do not need perfect plan today. You just need one little stomp in right-ish direction.

Today I am grateful for the smell of the damp earth in the rain, for getting some ground work for laying some sleepers done before the rain, for a good chat with Pip, for finding a good book on Libby, for utube.

ORCOSCOPE
March 10 2026
Dis day feel like TRAP DAY. Not big trap. Not dragon trap. Small one. Sneaky one. Kind where someone say "Relax….it no big deal"
Orc know dis trap. Little problems ignored today become BIG SMASHING problems tomorrow. Better to deal with thing now while it still tiny. Tiny problem easy smash. Big problem smash BACK.

"Deal with little trouble early…..or it grow tusks later"
A poem from Benjamin Zephaniah
WHAT YU EAT
Fish an chips will cramp yu lips
an currant buns will hurt yu bum
hot curries will mek yu run
hot peppars mek yu angry
Sausages might given you fits
too much mincemeat gives you de s___ !
an chillies mek yo eyes go red
brown bread's alright wid honey
Some take aways may sell yu dogs
small ants ried go nice wid frogs
drink vinegar juice and yu'll hang loose
and chewing garlic's funny
But people day will always eat
veg, pulses, fungi and meat
Today I sat down in a seat
and watched a man eat money
(Choose what you eat, folks)
