I can't believe that it is the end of May! Where has the year gone?

Spent today finishing sorting out the garden after the bad storm a couple of nights ago. Lots of watering too, as it is still very dry despite the rain. I harvested the garlic, which has come about a month earlier than usual. It isn't nearly so good as last year because of the horrible weather, but there is enough to last us a few months. Not bad seeing as it was grown in a couple of discarded recycling boxes. I also planted out a few peas that were left over in the packet, and the last of the annual flowers that I had grown from seed. I could then rearrange the mini greenhouse to make space for the peppers, aubergines and basil to grow on. There is also room at the top for the garlic to dry out, as it is supposed to rain next week. I'll believe it when I see it. It is supposed to be getting cooler, so I might be able to germinate some lettuces (the seeds won't germinate if the temperature is too high). However, it was still very hot today, so I haven't bothered to sow any yet.

Other than that I have just cleaned the bathroom and cooked the dinner and washed up. More housework needed, but I am too tired at the moment so it will have to wait.

Grateful for time in the garden and that we didn't suffer more damage in the storm. Lots of houses and cars were damaged in our little town. We just lost the woodshed roof and OH has already started to fix it.

Today I am grateful for easy meals, for the paddling pool, for my book, for iced coffee, for living in a lovely neighbourhood.
