6 cans of paint either under the stairs or on their way (probably more, ound a second layer when I'd moved the first lot. A box of Beloved's cooking things, the steam cleaner and a fibre cloth mop are all heading that way too. I'm exhausted but I have got the washing in the machine (a couple of items were very wet and stinky - should have gone in days ago but Beloved's bedding hogged the washer or 2 days).
Still have to juggle 2 smaller items of furniture but that will be another day (and moveable because I took out all the paint cans and other stuff piled on top). For now there's a lot more room in the kitchen to get to the bathroom and back - standing in tiptoe to squeeze past the cube unit to avoid impaling myself on the corner was getting tedious (DS3 has adopted his father's technique of using brute force to shift furniture and not worrying about knocking lumps out of walls, scraping paint of sending stair finials flying).
Grateful for my bed (will only move for bathroom breaks), anticipating reading more of my book and working on getting cooler.

Wow @DawnW - that sounds like an amazing hailstorm. Dangerous too. Our weather has been too cool, lower than normal, and we had rain two nights ago. It is raining north of us now and may be headed this direction.
Hope you are feeling better @grandmanerd.
Most of the people are back in their homes. The company involved with the spill is facing a lot of lawsuits, especially since they didn't help with the evacuation. A similar tank collapsed and exploded in Washington and killed a number of people (some are still missing).
While at the library yesterday, as I was leaving, my walker went out from beneath me when I leaned forward a bit and I ended up on the floor. Fell on my bottom which does have a bit of padding, but not enough I guess. Hurts a lot today and a big bruise in progress. Was there at the library making plans for the big move to a new Friends of the Library bookstore - 10 times the size of the space we have now. Hoping the move will be next month after the June book sale. Have a lot of books to move, so will be calling in help. I can't move anything right now - I will be directing (the privilege of being president of the group).

Spent some of yesterday clearing up and tidying the garden after the destructive storm the night before. Got about half way down (only a little garden really, but I was shattered after the broken night). I still have the front garden to do but it will have to wait till tomorrow as I am working today. I cleared some plants, cut broken bits off others and swept up shards of perspex from the broken woodshed roof. OH is going to replace it with something non plastic. The neighbour was up on his roof replacing his shattered guttering, and as a result of his manipulations, some of ours came upclipped from its supports. He kindly reattached it, but I had to move lots of things in the courtyard and OH had to reconfigure his ladder (set up to fix the woodshed roof) as neighbour's ladder wasn't long enough to reach our house extension roof. What a palaver! OH and I are in our 70s, and although we are fairly fit and active, our days of going up on roofs are over. The woodshed is small and much lower in comparison to the house, so OH will be able to do that. Sheds are mostly still ok, but even the lowest roof sections of three storey houses not so much.
Anyway, I need to get ready for work now. Hugs to those that need them xxx

I'm a lot better but still a bit weak and wobbly so being careful about what I eat and drink. I've put the washing on the line but fot a headache so the sheet can wait until later (when the sun has gone over to the front of the house). I managed to have a shower but cut it short for safety.
I searched ffor my wellbeing referral and phoned to make an appointment. They don't do the mindfulness any longer, just exercise so I asked about chair based exercise. They do a chair based balance session but when she started to take my history the Neurology consult came up and she asked to postpone the exercise induction until after the neurology consult in case they made anything worse. I tried.
Grateful for my bed, my online book and some podcasts.

Went to a special program for seniors about services available for aging. A lot of good information and a free breakfast. Then went to the ER to see if I broke anything in my fall Wednesday, but the good news is I just have a big bruise but everything okay otherwise. Still don't understand the weather. Sunny California has had two days of rain this week already (well, overnight actually). At least I don't have to try and water anything for awhile. Hope you are staying cool now. Won't really warm up here until August and then will stay hot through most of October. September is one of our hottest months. I'll be using all of the hints from the Prepping thread for staying cool about then.
