Size of televisions

We've had 43" for ages. Mostly watching SD broadcast pictures live or recorded on PVR. I found larger TVs were unacceptably blurry at size of room distance. Maybe they are better now because guides suggest it should be way bigger. I'll stick with it. Mind you I find it increasingly annoying when a drama or film plot expects me to read text the size of a postage stamp on my screen

If you're mostly watching SD content then a bigger screen will appear blurrier but that's entirely down to the quality (or lack of) of the source material. Modern TVs are generally extremely good at upscaling HD to UHD although UHD will always look better regardless, but even the best can't do much with SD broadcast material. SD won't help with the text either, even a modern HD or UHD 43" will help you out there.

6.7" 😅 the size of my phone. Don't have a TV. Need to borrow one for my family's visit. I don't want one in my house, waste of space. I only watch content created on YouTube.

Although I notice that SD is better on my bigger LG TV than a smaller Chinese TCL one, although the HD on both is fine. Presumably something connected to the quality of the processor.

Yep, when the kids are visiting, even though they have media room at their disposal, they prefer to use the phone. Unless of course they are gaming, or there is some must see film showing. They never watch 'normal' tv, it'll be lucky to survive the next 5 years…

Quality of the processing rather than the processor (although that's part of the equation), that's why they charge more for a higher range TV within the same manufacturers range.

I only have room for a 32" TV in the alcove, which is only 80cm wide. The room is only about 11' square so that size is fine for it.
But I do still have nostalgic memories of watching the snooker in the early 1990s on a black and white portable 14"!

My portable suffered from ghosting, never seen so many balls on a snooker table.
