Size of televisions
Who else here is not a fan of larger televisions?
I have a 32" screen and it is plenty for me, plus where one sits in my living room, a screen any larger will be partly obsured by a wall shelf I have for a pricey turntable and one of my expertly placed pricey hifi speakers.

Doesn't the amount you want to watch it also effect how large a screen you want to have. I don't watch mine very much If only I could get sound I could watch my across the road neighbours as their screen is so large. I'm not sure if mine is 26" or 32" but it is quite large enough for me. It is not the focal point of my room as it is not the focal point of my attention. I do have friends who turn their's on when they get up & off when they go to bed. I think maybe one of them goes to bed downstairs with the TV permenantly on. They do have large screens though.

So don't buy a TV bigger than 32" then. :)
I had a 49" TV previously until it packed up, and I replaced it with a 43" I got in a Black Friday deal on Amazon.
The 43" I consider to be too small, but the 49" was likewise too big. At the time (and having a look just now) there seems to be no middle ground between those two sizes, and I can see posts on Reddit that suggest 46" TVs dropped out of favour a few years ago.Mind you that said there's no middle ground now between 32" and 40" for the most part either.

Screen size is measured from Top Right (or Left) diagonally to bottom Left (or Right) Viewing distance roughly 12 feet for a 32inch but it is really a matter of personal choice. Makes the 9 and 12 inch sets I sold many years ago seem tiny - used to fit Cyldon tuners when ITV first aired and they cost a lot of money back in the 1950s but there was a big de.mand

55 is more than enough

Only got a 55 inch-er as I won it a few years back and it's still going strong

For what and where?
I have a 65" that will hopefully soon be upgraded to a 75", however it is not in the lounge.
Nothing wrong with a 32", it's like everything else, personal preference. I have a 24" in the corner of the lounge contained in a cupboard should anyone need a quick fix or relatives kids are visiting and my office has a 32" monitor that has inbuilt TV streaming.
So the large TV in it's own room gets used for film, sport or gaming nights. The very purposes it was intended for….

My problem with larger TVs is that they tend to have two feet, rather than a single central pedestal, which means that, if you don’t want to fix them to the wall, you have to have a very wide piece of furniture to stand them on. I wanted to use a coffee table, but the TV’s feet were wider apart than the length of the table, so it now stands on a plank placed across the table.

Who else here is not a fan of pricey turntables and pricey hifi speakers, a cheap USB turntable and a pair of battery powered PC speakers will do the same job surely?
