Court Claim received UKCPS/Moorside
I’ve been chased by these chancers since 2023 when I allegedly parked on a car park next to a KFC in Sheffield. It had all gone quiet for almost a year but note I’ve got a Claim Form for the £170 charge (plus interest), £35 court fee plus £50 legal reps cost.
I had previously appealed but that was rejected, and now here we are. I’ve submittted the AOS already. Claim issue date was 11th March so I now need to submit a defence within the next week.
I’m not daunted by the court thing; been there and got several t-shirts and I’ll go sit in chambers and make my points if it comes to that. But I think I have a strong defence and even my local MP (and former Transport Minister) has taken UKCPS publicly to task for their failings regarding the specific site in question.
I’d welcome any advice before I submit a defence. My natural tendency is for plain speaking and lots of detail. I also have photos to support my argument, as well as my MP’s comments (which are public domain).

Save the stories and evidence for your Witness statement plus Exhibits bundle in several months time
Study a few recent similar cases and draft your defence from theirs, using the 8 steps and defence template in announcements, your defence should be concise, no waffle, dealing with the POC
Post the Issue date from the top right of the claim form below and also post a redacted picture of the POC from the lower left of the claim form below after hiding the VRM details first

”The MP has also intervened in cases involving the privately run Costa/KFC car park in Woodseats, where local people were repeatedly hit with fines of up to £100. After visiting the site and raising the issue of inadequate signage with the operator, Louise secured improvements to ensure fairer treatment of drivers.”

Good for that MP!
And useful for your defence too.

just a question:I’ll be using Coupon Mad’s template defence but where it refers to previous cases, is there any onus on me to know the details or wording of those cases? I assume not. I can’t dispute being the driver as they provided a photo of me, albeit from behind.

For the defence you wont be altering any paragraphs apart from 2 & 3 , so for now you don't need to understand the other 8, but you have perhaps th next 4 to 8 months to research them
Concentrate on the two paragraphs only, an ending to 2 and a suitable 3 that refutes the POC, plenty of them in other recent cases
If the AOS stage was completed, your deadline is 4pm on Monday 13th April, so next Monday
