Again, you seem to be conflating an issue you're having with your TV with the speed of your broadband fibre connection. Your broadband is demonstrably faster, but as mentioned there may well be issues with the way you're connecting it to your TV or the TV's capabilities. How old is the TV, is it capable of dual-band wifi or just 2.4ghz, as I previously mentioned have you just continued to use your older router and therefore no reconnected the network setup on the TV. There's many things to check but to say your fibre broadband is slower isn't correct.

Escatly that.

My router is closer, much closer, ie now in the living room and out of the integral garage, about 30 feet nearer to the TV/etc.

Having read your post, I won't bother changing anything other than connecting and getting the kids to connect a wire straight from the router to the tv, if that is possible.

Btw - I'm talking about streaming on the tv, i.e., YouTube, etc.

Londong thread, IIRC, someone said that a 'NowTv box' is a faster way—I do vaguely recall that happening on our old tv but the fact remains, the streaming is slower at times, more often ie buffering more when compared to the old copper line, ie every day it buffers as opposed to about once a week if that, before the fibre bb.

I assume your using WiFi on your laptop to run your speed test? How old is the laptop, what WiFi card does it have? The reason I ask is that some older gen WiFi cards/drivers have limited speeds particularly at 2.4ghz.

Many "modern" laptops are not supplied with an ethernet port , so it's becoming more difficult to test @router speeds - I'm having to use powerline adapters to the desktop to measure the d/l speed.to avoid being dependent on wifi "speed" measurements.
