I went from Now Super fast (or whatever it was called), FTTC service getting around 48mbps and moved to Sky Fibre 150 and just used my existing router as I already had an SR203 model and the definitely noticed the difference. When you switched over to Fibre did you make sure you rebooted all devices that use your internet, if not it may be worth doing that and taking a few accurate speed tests.

Not really sure what you mean about slower tbh. If your TV is buffering then maybe try reconnecting the network settings on it. Also it may be a WiFi issue, getting a faster internet doesn't make much difference if your WiFi is poor.

Superfast 35 - speeds according to Sky site were 36.4 daily

Since the change over a week ago its 151 and the "daily average is 74.2" according to their site.

    36.4 x 3 = 109.2

So the 151 is well over 3 x faster.

Any TV's etc are better hard wired to router.

    Life in the slow lane

Ignore the average daily figure as the only one that matters is your speed. To check the maximum speed at the router requires a wired connection to a PC or laptop. On 150 Mbps full fibre your speed will be give 150 Mbps (give or take, it's how it works). I went from circa 42 Mbps copper pair to full fibre 150 via Sky when OR upgraded around here and always got 150 when on FF (now on VM). Full fibre by the way doesn't require time to "settle", it usually either works or it doesn't.

The TV may be affected when hardwired due to an older lower speed cable (try a cat 6 ethernet cable from Amazon) or it's simply faulty. Have you tried a different port?

We have the Sony TV and the Sky box connected via WiFi (and did under Sky) and have never had an issue.

If using WiFi then the speed will be affected by both the strength of signal and the chipset in the device receiving it.

Try fast.com (it's what's used by Netflix when doing a test via the App) and click on the 'more info' button when finished and post the download, upload, and the 2 latency figures on here.

Edit: BTW even UHD movies only require 15 Mbps or higher to play stutter free.

Sky like every provider has to give an average speed on whatever speed profile they sell , copper pair /fibre to the cabinet is what’s called ‘rate adaptive’ , basically the further away from the cab the slower the speed will be , that’s why they had to give ( in my opinion) a pointless average speed ,the FTTC profiles are 40Mb , 55Mb and 80Mb , when Sky sell 40Mb they have to advertise it as an average 36Mb , that doesn’t mean everyone gets that , live close to the cabinet you get 40Mb , regardless of the average, live a long way from the cabinet you may only get 25Mb , they can’t overcome physics and give 36Mb , that’s why it’s pointless average , add all the Sky customers together on 40Mb and on average they get 36Mb but it’s a pointless statistic each individual gets the best their line length allows.

If you now get 150Mb because you are on full fibre there is no rate adaption , it doesn’t matter how long a fibre line is , do you get 150Mb , (or 500 or 900 depending on what you buy ) but on a speed test you may see slightly less to allow for Ethernet overheads , but clearly 150Mb is more than 3 times faster that 40Mb, but that has to be tested on a wired device (not WiFi ) using a device capable of using the speed (so a modern PC or laptop connected by Ethernet is recommended) TV’s are a bad choice as the Ethernet hardware isn’t usually great , no point putting Gb LAN cards in a TV that can never use more than 25-30Mb on a UHD stream .

The only way a full fibre service can be slower is if it’s been mis provisioned (but 40 is the slowest profile so can’t be that ) or is faulty and it’s not likely to be that , or congestion (on who network is this City Fibre or Openreach ? ) but TBH it’s not likely to be a fault just the way you are testing ….

No issues just slower eg tv, YouTube get stuff a lot more often, almost daily as opposed to once a week for a few seconds if that

As someone else said, they'd tried everything, even different cables, etc. So, it is slower.

See my previous posts where I asked OP to do a speed test and OP reported.

    "download Mbps112.09 Upload Mbps27.87"

    Thank you.

We've never had the TV connected to the router and it is slower as per my OP

However, we had the router moving to the living room from the integral garage ie much further away before. However, I will ask one of the kids to connect directly to the router. (So, the tv is slower even though the router is closer to most items that need BB)

Thank you, I appreciate your contributuion.

But the point many are missing is the fact the fibre is supposed to be a lot "faster," yet it is slower on the tv for YT.

I think people are skipping that as it's not making sense TBH such as "No issues just slower eg tv, YouTube get stuff a lot more often, almost daily as opposed to once a week for a few seconds if that"

You mentioned moving the router from the garage to the living room, that is probably your problem right there. You sound as if you're expecting more from WiFi then you're going to get.
