Quick update from my earlier posts.

I did contact UW by phone but they wouldn't allow me to switch to the cheaper earlier fixed tariff. So I've switched to this E.on tariff through comparison website uswitch:

I know the night rate looks dreadful but I only live in a small one bedroom flat and so with the very low standing charge (approx £6.50 a month cheaper than present) and slightly lower day rate. As long as I push switching my storage heaters on until very late in the year then there shouldn't be a great cost difference for me over this next year.

Depending on what happens over the next few months, a 12p E7 night rate might prove to be a fabulous deal for winter 26/27!
