@rfsmith7 That is the government reduction for ECO/RO so really UW shouldn't take any credit for it 😀

Its a reduction on bills, not a reduction in scheme costs.
A move from bills to taxation, assuming ECO fully integrated into Warm Homes Plan.
And the £134 of additional costs imposed by govt /Ofgem in last 3 caps (WHD, nuclear, networks, network RIIO3, CMS ) will be waiting and ready unless some reversed to alleviate July predicted increase.
and not to be a downer but if rfsmith7 reads the UW variable e7 rate off peak increase posts - i suspect that might also impact July variable and so Aug fixes.

I was shocked to get the same email as the OP. But every cloud has a silver lining. I switched to their fixed tariff as from 1st April.
Tariff: UW Fixed Start 81
Annual Estimate: £776.64
Monthly Direct Debit: £64.72
Unit rate (day): 39.581p per kWh
Unit rate (night): 6.916p per kWh
Daily standing charge: 56.903p
Exit fee: £75.00

Not quite the smooth sailing I'd hoped for. I went to double check my confirmation e-mail and realised it said UW Fixed 80 tariff instead of Fixed Essentials 80 tariff. There was a minor difference of about 0.4p on the day rate but otherwise exactly the same rate. Rang up to query it and had them change it to Fixed Essentials 80. The advisor kept calling it Fixed Saver Essentials 80 on the phone, the night rate and standing charge had gone down 0.2p with the day rate the same, although now it won't take effect until 1st May. Requested a tariff confirmation e-mail but not arrived yet.
Don't really want to be worrying about this for a month before I can find out whether it's correct or not.

I realise now that I should have gone for the 'Essentials' tariff instead of 'Fixed Start' which wasn't listed on their quote page as it assumed I was a new customer. That's cost me about £14. I should really have been informed by the person on the phone that I'd have been slightly better off on Essentials. At least I now know for next time and to use their tariff information label link instead: which shows all the prices excluding VAT.

In December, UW incorrectly put me on Fixed 70 instead of the Fixed Essentials 70 tariff we agreed.
I only noticed the error when the March bill came through (for Feb's usage), and it showed I was on their Value variable tariff..
I looked back at the February bill (Jan's usage) and that's where I spotted they had put me on the Fixed 70 tariff, not the Fixed Essentials Tariff.
No emails or letters advising me on either of the tariff changes.I think their system must have made the switch from Fixed 70 to Value because I only had one service with them.
I spent hours earlier this month on the phone and WhatsApp asking them to correct the error as I obviously wanted to keep the 5p fix until November. I also saw a few posts where folks had been advised of reductions in the off peak rate on some of the Fixed tariffs down to 2p or less!! Subsequently I read that those superb reductions ONLY applied to tariffs with a version of 69 or less, so I wouldn't have gained anything on that front.
As of yesterday, on checking, they still were unable to confirm when the correction would be made.
So I have thrown in the towel and jumped ship to EDF GoElectric Oct27 v2, which locks in 5.48p until October 2027. Yes it's costing 0.48p more than the Fixed Essentials 70, but peace of mind right through into next year.
With 99%+ of our annual 19,000 kWh usage being off-peak, having a low locked in off-peak price is the key.
From 1st April, the EDF GoElectric tariff gives a full 7 hours off-peak, moving from 5 hours currently.
If something better is on the table later in the year, then I'll take the £75 penalty to leave and move on.
I checked with EDF on the phone and the operator confirmed that it was NOT mandatory to have an EV.2 -
It's totally my fault but the other day I used the UW ineffective email contact form to try to move on the UW Fixed start 80 tariff. I remain on the Value variable tariff.
Today they've released UW Fixed start 82 and the new fixed night rate is much higher. Here it is for the East Midlands:
- Tariff: UW Fixed Start 82
- Unit rate (day): 37.45p per kWh
- Unit rate (night): 9.341p per kWh
- Daily standing charge: 50.81p
- Exit fee: £75.00
- .....
- With temperatures warming I think my storage heaters are from today going off for the next 6 months.

I'd give them a call and see if they can track down the email from the submission form. If they can, they have to honour it. I used the email form a while back and it took them about 5 days to respond.

It was last Friday that I sent the request and they then instantly sent me an auto generated response to confirm my details:
I did and I repeated the request to switch to UW Fixed start 80 tariff. Then the next day posters on here said it was now fixed start 81 tariff.
So I'll first wait a little longer to see if they do respond to the email request. If not I'll follow your advice and ring them.

I'd also chase it now by replying to that email autoresponse.
