UW were an outlier with their 5p E7 off-peak. Over the last six months or so we've had people reporting here that their renewal deals have been closer to 10p.
Looks like your turn has come around.

I spotted the UW Eco7 shift yesterday 😓
I always thought the bubble would burst on it at some point. Just as it did with the EDF Eco7 5p rate in our region several years ago. As @QrizB mentions above, it was a definite outlier.
The 5p off peak rate in the Yorkshire Region has worked really well for us over the past 15 months or so.
We use +/- 18,000kWh per annum and 99% of that is off-peak thanks to battery storage.
I jumped through a few hoops back in November 25 to engineer a way to start a new 12m fix as I was concerned the 5p rate wouldn't last. Turns out, it was a good decision.I will start looking around later in the year to see what my best alternative will be. Hopefully by then Tesla will have declared their hand as they enter the UK supply market. We do have a Powerwall 3, so we may be eligible for some exclusive Tesla owner rates.

I haven't received anything from UW yet but their quote system for Eastern is:
Unit rate (day): 33.266p per kWh
Unit rate (night): 9.582p per kWh
Daily standing charge: 54.04p
Exit fee: £0.00
So, that is about a £400 a year increase for me as we use around 70% off peak. (cant see if the prices are inc/ex VAT).

I received the UW email tonight.
I am on the "Value" tariff and in the East Midlands.

Also in the UW email it seems to suggest if you switch providers soon after April they won't charge you the after April price increases. I don't know if energy companies usually do this?
Here is the UW email extract:
"There is no exit fee to switch away from us, but you'll need to pay any outstanding balance on your account before switching. If you decide to switch suppliers, and we have been notified by 30 April 2026 that you'll be doing so, then if the switch goes ahead within a reasonable period, the new prices above won't apply to the energy you use between 1 April 2026 and the date your service is switched"

Yes that is pretty normal with suppliers but, unlike before when switches took around 3 weeks, I can't see it saving much if your switch only takes 3 days. I doubt I'll be using more than 1kWh a night after 1st April so I think I'll stick with UW for now and see what prices they come up with for 1st July. I may switch supplier then for the referral fee and then come back to UW for winter. It might have been more palletable if the 1st April UW standing charge wasn't so high. 60p for me.

All suppliers should be doing this as it is a regulatory requirement

My UW E7 has also gone up(East Anglia). I use approx 8500kw over night and 2500kwday rate over the year. Estimated increase is £85 per year year. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement, what with the big build up to the price decrease from April. As you can see from my usage my bill is pretty much dictated by the night rate. Also my daily standing charge has increased I thought this ' price decrease 'was due to the stripping out of out stuff within the standing charge thus reducing it. I to was caught out by EDF E7 night rate doubling a few years ago. Grrrr. Does anyone have the formula they use to make these prices within the cap, I am assured by UW they are legit. I will probably stick with it this quarter and see what horrors the next price cap brings, as for UW VERY disappointing.

Scroll down this page to the table for "multi-rate meters". Look up your region. That's where you'll find your price cap.
But it's a little more complicated than that, as the cap is a weighted average (see the link in my signature).
For example, the April 2026 price cap for multi-rate meters in my region (Southern) is 26.56p/kWh. However that's a weighted average; it's for a hypothetical customer using 58% of their electricity on the day rate and 42% on the night rate (because that's apparently what the average customer does).
So, 58% of the day rate plus 42% of the night rate needs to add up to no more than 26.56p/kWh.
So a supplier in Southern region could charge, for example:
- 10p/kWh night rate and 38.5p/kWh day rate
- 15p/kWh night rate and 34.9p/kWh day rate
- 20p/kWh night rate and 31.2p/kWh day rate
- 26.56p/kWh for both night and day rates
… and all those would be permitted under the Ofgem cap.

I'm moving onto their Fixed Essentials 79 tariff from 1st April. For me it's a saving against the new value tariff of almost £120 per year! Factor in that prices are very likely to increase substantially in July and it becomes a no brainer.
