Great work @Thrifty_Taylor - I learned to knit when I was 4. Problem is I never got any better at it 😂
I started to knit a little yellow baby cardigan when I was expecting my eldest - my Mum finished it 9 years later for my youngest lol.
Not a fun day, I have a hospital appointment for heart scans. I will have to head off soon. On a more positive note, it isn't raining and I have washing pegged out on the line. If it isn't too cold I will do some small garden jobs this afternoon once I get back from the hospital. I have a new planter (from L*dl) to which I want to give a coat of wood preservative. And it can move outside, rather than taking up space in the living room where OH assembled it yesterday amid much swearing and complaining about the state of the materials / construction 🤣
Grateful for the spring flowers in my garden, especially the snakes head fritillaries (sp?) which I planted last year and have reappeared. So strange and beautiful 😍

Had a couple of meh days. Did a small food order yesterday, mostly fruit but included a drink and a chocolate bar as I think some of the meh- ness comes from giving up both again (I will get there but trying to do as many days without then pausing when I think the dopamine is dropping).
I have had my ankle strapped up and I think I'll pain gel my knees today. I have let a couple of things build into frogs - didn't want to do them and now afraid of doing them. Not being able to walk/ go outside isn't helping. I've just checked and I can do the Council Tax refund online so I'll do it that way (when I was doing my mum's bungalow they made me jump through all sorts of hoops and then said mine and my brother's signatures were too similar - he'd written his above my name and I made him redo it above his own name).
Still loving the large print books and have watched a few films and 'Play for Today's That's a plural with the series title in brackets.
Grateful for easy food (just boiled the last batch of eggs), books and plays (can reccomend 'Shakespeare or Bust' with a very young Brian Glover and a familiar actor who I couldn't place but I think he's one of the teachers in the school soap Waterloo Road (he still had dark hair in the Play), finding my ankle support strap

Hope your appointment went ok Dawn, & that your pain eases overnight grandmanerd. Sending hugs to you both.
NNot doing so well on the NSDs this month, might be on 7. Not spent much more than usual, but more things spaced out, eg the local paper wasn't delivered to the shops last Wednesday, due to no boats sailing, so had to buy it on Thursday instead
A quick day at work today. Torrential rain & strong winds when I left, so no walk afterwards. Pleased I did some exercises before breakfast! Sewed after tea
Gratefuø for sniggering internally at unintentional innuendos, someone else sending customers my way, a sewing job I'd dreamt about (nightmare) being easier than I'd thought
Use it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Glad to have got yesterday over with. I had to lie in uncomfortable positions on a very narrow and hard couch in order for the radiologist to get the images of my heart that she wanted, and I am still a bit achey this morning, but onwards. After the hospital I was determined to do something worthwhile outside as it was such a lovely day weatherwise, so I treated my new L*dl planter with wood preservative to make it last longer, and cleaned out the inside of the car, which was awful after all the muddy conditions. It was still very muddy outside the garage (on a shared unmade track that is constantly driven over as people access the rear of their properties, not in the garden where I could do something about it), so I had to clean the hoover's flex and pipe once I had finished and before I brought it back inside. Anyway, it isn't perfect, but the car interior is much better now. One of my work friends pays £60 to have her car valeted, and admittedly it looks lovely after it has been done - but I shan't be doing that! I don't like the idea of all the chemicals that the company uses, let alone the cost.
My washing got dry, and I have another load in this morning. I will be pegging it outside once done.
It is sunny again, so I am going to do a bit of housework this morning, and head outside this afternoon. I will harvest some chard and maybe plant some potatoes in pots. The tomato seeds need to be sown, and I may move some pots around.
Dinner will be easy, I have leftover chicken and will make a stir fry.
Grateful for nice weather after such a long, dark and wet winter!

This is my month to really revolt. I am mad at all of my roommates. Things are going to change around here.

Hope you get the changes you need @weenancyinAmerica. You do seem to have a lot to put up with ❤️

LESSONS FROM SPRING
Even after dark times it's possible to thrive
Plant the seeds you want to see grow
Challenges are necessary for growth
Take time to notice fleeting beauty
No rainy day lasts for ever
Even positive changes can be scary
Not everyone will bloom at the same time
Growing takes time and patience
(@positively present)
I needed this today and thought you might too)

Yesterday the delivery man from the pharmacy turned up and handed me a package. Only one small pack? I asked 'Is this all?'. He said that was all they'd given him, so I said I would hopefully see hiim again. I had been speaking with the pharmacist earlier to do a pill review but my phone battery gave up mid conversation. Later I had a text to say my prescription would be out for delivery between 10 am and 5 pm tomorrow (today Friday).
So stayed in, asked DS3 to listen whilst I had a shower and washed my hair. Just after noon, I had another text to say it would be delivered on Monday. I took my last 2 anti-depressants today so it will be an interesting weekend - I did check the NHS site as I know that just stopping them is inadvisable, they have to be tapered off. I might get away with 2 days but have decided to treat myself gently.
I looked for lists of helpful foods and ordered walnuts, pumkin seeds, salmon, spinach and rocket (leafy greens), mushrooms etc. I already had yoghurt, bananas and cherry tomatoes.
I need to check the present boxes for 1st birthday gifts. I might actually use what I have, even if some things need to be put away for later. There are also various bits that were bought for Christmas but hid themselves before I got to wrapping them (3 bracelets with postcards - they have a QR code which enables you to track the elephant/ penguin/ turtle you are supporting)
I am grateful for easy foods (still ahve some simmer meals in the fridge and in the freezer), 2 new books to start and rediscovering a dress hidden behind the others (inside out so a nondescript green).

Day at home today, after 2 days at work. I have a 9 am appointment to get my ratty hair trimmed, so hoping to get stuff done after that. I will probably walk rather than drive to town to avoid Saturday morning traffic nonsense, which means I will need to leave by 8.30, so better get a move on!
