Will you just close the hole or replace it with a new fireplace?
Found a 10p and a 20p while walking yesterday. That rarely happens anymore.
Really need to do some lunch prep tonight as I only have one soup left. Might do a big batch of pasta salad.
Lovely sunny but chilly day, don't have the energy to go to the gym but might venture out for a lunchtime walk.
Have a good day

Happy Tuesday ! For some reason, it has felt like Friday all day🤣! And we even had fish and chips for tea!
We've been running the food stocks down - mostly because I had a sinus infection and was also working so I had neither the time nor the inclination to do a food shop! But now that I am mostly better, plus I'm not working tomorrow, I get to go and use my 10% off voucher in liddle. Happy times!
Watched a Rocky Horror Picture Show documentary with Pip this afternoon. We both put our phones on the dining table for the duration - a first!
Today I am grateful for working with fabulous friendly people, for fine weather for walking, for all the daffodils, for our gp ordering some blood tests that Pip thought he might have to fight to get done, for time with Pip, for my sister helping me with some paperwork.

A great thread @apple_muncher. Please can I join? (#18 if poss)
So far I've not spent anything yet this month, so NSD#3. I was pleased that my food shopping last month was £100 less than normal 😊
Walked with DH on Sunday, & I've been for a walk yesterday & today after work. Today's was to try & stomp out the stress I was feeling! My pupil is feeling under the weather & refusing to do things, so my patience was running thin. To top it all, we have an inspection most of the week! He told the male inspector to tickle me at lunchtime 🤣 I might've blushed as the man walked away!! 😂 Had already made a twit of myself by accidentally banging my head on a wall, just before the man spoke to us the first time…
I've not been going on my phone as much lately, been doing a 1000 piece jigsaw, which I finished at the weekend, so another thing to donate. My counselling starts next week, so hoping it'll help me focus more time on myself & to process my grief after losing DS1.
Grateful today for laughs in between the stress, seeing 2 swans flying overhead, a hare & a pheasant on my walk, managing to do some stretching/yoga before breakfast

Bags for various bins piled up (DS3 has put out the black and green bins - I may be able to add my bags in the morning when I do my pills). Did a small freezer food order. My chilled meals came on Sunday but I'm still working through the last box so I want the new ones in the freezer but because they're only chilled I needed freezer food to put on top of them. I've ordered a double lot of toilet rolls. They lasted longer than expected (I can no longer monitor their use upstairs but think it's slower because Beloved is only here for half the week). I have plans for moving things round on the shelves (DS3 has claimed the 2 higher ones in the kitchen) and I think I might then be able to get the toilet rolls stacked on top of the freezer.
I've also ordered 2 packs of toothbrushes as there is only one left in the bathroom cabinet and I sometimes need to change them every month. Collected washing - bathmat, clothes from the basket and the sheet off the bed - and set the WM off. Spent a productive ten minutes sitting on the side of the bed, picking up rubbish with my grabber stick.
Grateful for easy meals, good drama (play for today etc mostly from the 1970s) and getting things done.

Make today amazing, okay? Make it beautiful. If that's unrealistic, just make some coffee and make it weird. That'll have to do (Nanea Hoffman)

NSD # 1 for me today. Strictly speaking I did buy something - I ordered some seeds (not sorry, cosmos and zinnias, much cheaper than buying plants), but a low spend and it was paid for from money I got for selling old food processor parts online, so budget neutral. I recently had to buy new design bowls etc for my 30 year old M*gimix as the lid was broken and I could no longer get a like for like replacement. That was a big spend 🙄, and meant that lots of the attachments would no longer fit. I hated the idea of throwing away all that plastic, even if it was 30 years old, so I put them on ebay on the offchance that someone might be able to use them. Anyway, they sold for £18, so garden fun money for something that would otherwise have been thrown away 😊
Nice weather still, a bit chilly, but no rain and some sun 😊
OH went out for a while this morning, and I did lots of little cleaning jobs and a couple of loads of washing and pegged it outside on the line. Also made the base for Hugh F-W's gamekeepers pie, which I finished this afternoon with potato and celeriac mash. It was yummy, and the recipe made 2 pies, so there is another to freeze, or more likely sit in the fridge and get eaten in a couple of days time.
Spent some time outside this afternoon (I try to do this for a while every day). I repotted a houseplant, and a small basil plant which arrived in a L*dl reduced veg box weeks ago, and survived against the odds. As it is still alive and looking healthy, having supplied leaves for several dishes, I thought it deserved some TLC and a bigger pot. I planted out some leeks that had overwintered in a pot, and put the geraniums out in the sun for a while (they live in the conservatory till the danger of frosts has passed) and also the baby olive tree which has spent the winter in the mini greenhouse. It is now sharing the space with pea, broad bean and lettuce seeds, and 2 pots of dahlias. Now all safely put inside again. Likewise the washing, now on the airer to finish off.
I found a few broccoli sprouts for dinner - there will be lots in a week or two's time 😊
It is lovely to see things growing again.
Time to make a drink I think. The dog won't be pleased, as he is currently draped across my lap having his tummy rubbed, and will have to move 😀
