Wonder if they will block your transfer to edf? Im stuck in a fix which ends 30 April but will be looking to move to a cheaper tariff elsewhere once I’m in the transfer window unless they give me £100 compensation to cover the exit fees.

Maybe try to do official complaint to British Gas.
when I did this I had phone calls back from the complaint department the very same day.Stress that you’re unhappy with the treatment as an existing customer and you feel excluded from a cheaper tariff option that’s available to new customers. In the first call back a goodwill compensation credit to my account was mentioned. I stressed that I wanted to escalate the issue.
I had another call back from complaints an hour or so later and in that call I accepted the compensation to resolve the complaint.Settled with the £50 credit but without the switch of tariff

I made an official complaint and have a complaint reference. I’ve had 4 calls from “complaints” but they are not providing any answers and I keep getting cut off. (I am not being rude or abusive). They have not called back after the latest cut off Friday morning so I have sent an email & asked for all future contact by email & a deadlock letter if the cannot answer my questions. No offer of compensation

Still waiting for a response to my complaint. I’ve just applied for the BG Fixed Lighter MSE Feb27 v1 via cheap energy club 🤞

If approved, won't that lock you into the BG early exit fees for a further 12 months?

Yes but I have no complaints over the last 12 months just a pain to try & transfer this time.

I've just applied for the British Gas Fixed Lighter MSE Feb 27 v1 tariff, and it went straight through. It’s shown under upcoming tariffs in my account, and they also sent an email about the direct debit.
I don’t know if it made a difference, but this time I approached it like trying to get cashback. I used Chrome, cleared my history, and accepted all cookies (I forgot to do it in an incognito window).
The unit rates are slightly higher than the Switch Together tariff that I was on, but the reduction in standing charges more than compensates for that with my normal usage. Then there’s the cashback; according to Google AI, existing customers are still eligible for it.

That's good to hear that you managed to get it this time. I've given up on British Gas and already decided to go to Octopus. Their Tariff has a higher standing charge but isn't too far off the British Gas Fixed Lighter MSE Feb 27 v1 tariff . Just too disgusted by British Gas customer services to try again!

My transfer to British Gas Fixed Lighter MSE Feb 27 v1 tariff as an existing BG customer via MSE Cheap energy club has been accepted this time and is now (next day) showing on my BG account. I’ve submitted meter readings for the change over. Hopefully all will run smoothly now.
Don’t know why this didn’t happen with the previous MSE Collective Feb27. Still no answer from BG complaints. Not sure I’ve got the willpower to keep pushing them
