Can Google Maps display the road speed limit?

I repeat…
If there are repeaters, that's the limit.
If there are NOT repeaters, streetlights…
The Highway Code is not for ignoring once you've passed your driving test.0 -
'Mildly' doesn't begin.
I don't recall any 'repeaters' - perhaps the odd one - but mainly the actual speed change signs, which are indeed clear. But if you stop for a period, it's not at all obvious what section you are on when you resume.
The streetlamps appear identical throughout, even in the '40' zones - I did check that out of interest the last time on there, so the SLs were also on the 40mph stretches.
Speed advice on the car or SatNav display is not a substitute for anything, I agree, but an additional source of useful info. Like lane assist - it's always better if you manually keep your car in the right lane.
Sheeesh - I only asked. And the B-whatsit is only one example.
This is a 'private road', and there are private signs saying 10mph max. The public does go down there, as there are factory units, a café, and a fitness centre. On the way back, what is the speed on the B3233 where it joins?

If there are no repeaters, then only the default is legally enforceable.
If there are streetlights without repeaters, it's 30.

Go a very short distance up the road in either direction, there's a 40 repeater.
10mph is not a legally enforceable speed anywhere on the UK road network, and as you say, that's private land anyway - it's not the public road. There's no terminal 40 joining the B road for the same reason there was no 30 leaving - you didn't change limit, you left the highway in the same way as turning into somebody's drive.0 -
Go a very short distance right, and yes there's a 40 repeater very soon.
Go left, and where is the first one?
So, for either direction, until their respective repeaters are located, it's '30'? Or, you assume it's '30' 'cos there are streetlights? Even tho' it's actually '40'?
Call me anything you like, but I am asking for a wee bitty technology that gives me a hint, that's all.
Do you know if Android Auto will display the actual speed limit if asked nicely? If so, how?
Ta.

It's literally on the first lamp post after the junction, three houses down.

And, yes, you assume 30 if there's streetlights and no repeaters - because that's how you identify a 30. Default urban limit.0 -
See? I missed that.
So let me push you a wee bit, as you do appear to be a touch miffed about this whole thread; do you think it's unreasonable of me to want to know the speed limit, other than by scanning the sidewalks for a repeater each time?

So, you would rely on a telephone to tell you the speed limit without being able to verify it by speed limit signs and/or road layout?
That is asking for trouble.
@Mildly_Miffed is correct.
Just do 30mph until you know it is something higher.
The phone/car could be wrong!

…do you think it's unreasonable of me to want to know the speed limit, other than by scanning the sidewalks for a repeater each time?
It’s unreasonable to expect technology companies to reliably assist you with that task,
It’s been explained adequately on here how easy it is to either determine the prevailing limit if it is not one of the defaults or at least comply with the default limit until you see something telling you otherwise.
To rely on technology to do that is foolhardy.

Where have I said that I would 'rely' on technology?
I believe I have made my position very clear. I asked, "Can Google Maps display the road speed limits?"
In fact, my opening post included the caveat, "Yes, I know that's your responsibility, and no I wouldn't 'rely' on it, but it's a very useful feature and also triggers you to be more aware of your speed."
Lawdie.

I did, but I got pulled over on the M63 for this.
