Re: Hinckley BS - when you complete the online application form to get the downloadable PDF application form**, the official address it says to use for completed applications is…

    Savings Department
    Hinckley & Rugby Building Society
    Upper Bond Street
    Hinckley
    Leicestershire
    LE10 1NZ

** I know the direct PDF link was kindly already posted, but I thought as added insurance to complete the online form so that if this goes NLA before the application is delivered, Hinckley will at least have a record of me downloading the form.

I dread to think how long it would take these days if I had requested an application form to be sent by post.

H&R BS Christmas Saver 30 Day and RS I3

Xmas saver changed to 4.9%A in January this year, so I've only funded with £200. Does this account mature on 1/11/26 ? Also, are there any penalties / wait periods if closing the account early ? (There is the option through the online portal)

I don't really want the Christmas Saver 30 Day but would like to the RS I3, so I'm just trying to work out the best way to lose the Xmas Saver, if necessary, and gain the RS I3 ?

It could be that by the time I receive an application pack for an RS I3 and return completed forms with an explainer on about waiting if necessary for the Xmas Saver to mature, that all would be fine.

    First Direct RS Renewal

This time I managed to catch the disappearance window the day before maturity to apply for a further RS. Also this time I already have a savings account which the previous RS became after maturity and I'm hoping will receive the maturity funds this time, but in a shorter period of time.

I recall last time calling CS to expedite the appearance of the maturity funds and EA savings account.
I'm curious to know, if other people have done the above or similar, how long they had to wait before their new RS appeared ? Did you have to fund manually the first time or was the SO set up and used ? Did you call CS to expedite the appearance of the new RS and it's first funding, particularly if on a weekend ?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hinkley

Please can I confirm the order of doing things - you complete your application form and send off.

Do they then reply back with a passbook? Or will you get an email or message with your account details 1stly?

If so -you then have to wait for your application to be accepted with a letter in the post. Only then can you register for online services. And then another wait for an activation code by snail mail?

I had one fall on a weekend a year ago and to my surprise the new account was opened late on a Sunday. I did not contact them, just applied the moment the existing one disappeared at the start of the maturity process.

    Hinckley and Rugby BS

I have previously had accounts with H and R BS but none currently open.

I have applied by post for the new RS Issue 3 (with cheque for the opening deposit).

I tried my old online details to log on and, hey presto, they work. The opening page says "no active accounts" or something similar.

Once my new account is open, presumably it will appear online, or alternatively I will be able to enter the account number and ask for it to show.

Just posting this in case there is anyone else with a log in but no open accounts.

    HRBS:

Matches my interpretation of the Ts&Cs, the Christmas RS was called "Christmas Saver 30 Day Notice", which is a different product to their "Regular saver".

It's the same as YBS's Regular Saver, Loyalty Regular Saver and Christmas Regular Savers in that respect, you can hold one of each of these products.
