They send you a maturity email, here's what I got before, all self explanatory.

If you would prefer to open a different new account with Progressive, please follow these steps:1.Select Open new Savings Account
2.Review our range of products
3.Click Apply Now and complete the application process
4.Once your new account is open and showing on your homescreen, you can transfer funds from your Online Instant Access Account to your new account using the ‘Withdraw’ button. You can also transfer funds to your Nominated Bank account. Is there something we could have done better? It would be great to hear your feedback to help us improve our customer service by completing the following survey: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/progressivesavingsfeedback
Please do not reply to this email, as it’s been sent from an email address that doesn’t accept incoming emails.
Kind regards,
Progressive Building Society
So effectively it matures the day after and you can transfer out or to another account. You can open new accounts before ready for the transfer, but no automatic maturity options like some others have.

I had no issues with my Tipton app - fired up with no need for the code. And even better the payment from Tuesday is now showing, updated in the last hour so finally a fully functioning Tipton.

They will most likely allow this because this is a different product, not just another issue of the same.

Not sure why others are saying they've had trouble with Progressive. I've never had any problems. They send a code via Whatsapp to log in. I think at one point they reset my password without warning me, because I hadn't changed it for a few months, but it didn't take long to sort it.
I'm hoping because the account has a new name, rather than just a new issue number, I'll be allowed to open one. My existing rainy day saver matures at the start of October, so there may be a slight overlap.

Progressive BS:
In my case their online system hasn't let me log in for months, I have an ongoing complaint about it which their IT team are investigating. I think I broke it though as previously their password reset thing could be bypassed by clicking back then home but now it won't let me get past that even if I try changing the password. Still if I miss this 7% RS because of that issue then I'll just have to add it to my complaint.
Logon worked fine previously with the WhatsApp code, but not recently for me.
My advice to Progressive, Melton BS and any others that force users to change their password frequently in the name of "security" is that it has the opposite effect, my password for the NHS's finance system has become {name of finance system}-YYYY-MM, where YYYY is the year I last changed the password and MM is the month I last changed the password as it forces you to change it every month, I have a few colleagues with the same password and a lot of people will be doing the same with Melton and Progressive among others.

I never win cash prizes, but may be one day….. £10 p/m @5% easy access doesn't hurt, so I opened it. Took less than a minute as usual. Making 1 extra deposit a month is a drop in the ocean, so I couldn't see any reason for not opening this account😎

I use the Authenticator app rather than WhatsApp, so fingers crossed I continue to avoid any issues with Progressive. Password generator sorts me out and hasn't failed there yet, which is just as well as I have no idea what the password is.
Melton did annoy me the last time as it timed me out on the verification code before I managed to get the passwords in to change it. Then rather than just sending me an updated OTP for the change, it blanked the lot and made me start over again.

I'm able to log in ok with email/password/authenticator app but having read the above I thought I might pre-empt a problem by changing my existing password. However, I'm unable to change my password. The form simply won't accept my existing password (which has 9 characters) because it doesn't meet their "current password criteria" (12 characters). How crass is that?.

The hacker's AI bots will be immensely grateful for your assistance in making cracking passwords easier 🤣

I haven't tried to log in for many months but hey ho I only have £1 in the account and still can't be bothered to log in to it. It matures in October.......what's the betting that I won't be able to access my money then ? I don't have much confidence.
