I closed my issue 8 Monmouthshire RS over a week ago, and then opened a new one the next day - probably could have done sooner but decided to leave a day..

When are Virgin going to launch another 10% regular saver ?

I tried this yesterday and got "pending". I tried again today but the App exclusive account still not showing.
I've done it again so I'll see if it does the same again.

In the past, I used to reset my Halifax Regular Saver to lock in a better interest rate by emptying the balance, But will first need switching the account to a standard (or other) saver, and then opening a brand-new Halifax RS.
However, now that Lloyds and Halifax share a unified online banking view, all of my Halifax, Lloyds, and Club Lloyds monthly savers show up under the same login.
Has anyone successfully closed and reopened a Halifax Regular Saver recently without having to close their existing Lloyds or Club Lloyds Monthly Savers? How did you do it ? is it the same old way procedure, empty the existing Halifax RS, switch it to another saving account before open a new halifax regular saver ?

Darlington messaged me about a week ago asking me to chose from a selection of maturity options for my regular saver which matures on 31st August.
I selected close and pay to my nominated back, but they messaged me yesterday saying they couldn't do it and I'd have to do it myself once it matured 🤷♂️
Why include that as an option, then? I think I'll just withdraw it down to the minimum operating balance during next week (bearing in mind it takes one working day to receive money from them) and close the maturity account on Tuesday 1st

I believe you need to still have a Hfx log in to open a Hfx RS, the Lloyds log in will only offer you Lloyds products. Same as it has always been with Lloyds / BOS / Hfx products.

Mine also matures on that date. I'm fairly convinced I asked them to transfer to my nominated account on maturity, but checking online there's no visible way that I can see to check this. There doesn't seem to be any place in which to submit maturity instructions, which suggests I have already told them. Have not heard anything back from them to say there's a problem for me.

Monmouthshire (in line with others who use the same platform) have to manually approve the addition of accounts to a customers internet banking profile.
Until then, it will remain in a pending state. From the message on their online banking login page, they seem very busy at the for some reason - I can't imagine why!

Darlington issue 2
Mine matures on 31st too. It will become a Maturity Easy Access account, with a variable rate of 1.85%. I don't have any other accounts with Darlington so will withdraw and leave £1 for maintaining continuous membership. Requests made before the 2:30 PM cutoff on a working day are processed that day and arrive to destination account on the next working day. Requests made after 2:30 PM, or on a non-working day, are treated as received on the following working day. So there are 2 options, withdraw on 27th August or 1st September. My EA pays 5%. According to my rough calculation I will be £1.45 better off withdrawing £3268 on 27th and the rest of interest on 1st Sept.
Edit: I put full details (dates of deposits, interim interest payment mess in January etc.) in AI and the result is "withdrawing the main balance early on 27th August is still the better option—but only by a tiny margin of £0.01." I might accept the loss to make only one withdrawal instead of two.😀
