Lloyds Monthly Saver @8%. My old Lloyds MS has just matured and I have closed it. I also have a old Club Lloyds MS @6.25% which matures in October. From T&C`s, it seems I have to wait until 12 months from opening the old Club Lloyds MS @ 6.25% have elapsed before I can apply for a new MS @8%. Is this correct? When I do apply for a new Lloyds MS @8% (If it is still available) does it matter whether it is the Lloyds MS or the Club Lloyds MS - they look identical? I have a Club Lloyds current account run solely for the 6 free cinema tickets. I already have a Halifax MS @8% and a BOS MS @8%. Will the eclipse of Halifax into Lloyds affect my ability to have all three 8% MS`s in October?

Lloyds RS
You’re only allowed one Lloyds RS at a time. You’ll be able to open the current 8% RS when your existing RS matures (or ‘renewed’). My experience and I think others’ is that you’re only given one choice of 8% to open and it doesn’t matter which.

I was in a similar position with Lloyds. If you renew your remaining 6.5% account into a standard saver then you should be able to open whichever version of 8% they offer you. Do need to decide if is better to keep putting £400 per month into 6.5% until October.
Halifax is different as the account matures in a different way. The default is that the RS empties into the associated standard saver and starts again as a RS. Long term LBG are going to need to change something to get those old Halifax accounts closed. Perhaps change rate to 1%?0 -

Or just tweak the T&C's so the RS account doesn't refresh - i.e. that funds are transferred to the associated EA saver and the RS account is closed, or that the RS converts into an EA saver itself.
Given all the other changes LBG are making at the moment then a tweak to the T&C's is a relatively trivial task.

Note that the Halifax is a Regular saver and the Lloyds pair are Monthly savers, totally different accounts.😁
Lloyds rushed the issue of the 8% savers, and the only condition that seems to be enforced is not opening a Lloyds Monthly Saver while you've got a Lloyds Monthly Saver, of either kind. Note that even after existing Halifax accounts are rebranded Lloyds, they will actually still be BOS for FSCS and other purposes.
Apply, as so many others have done successfully, and see what happens.

Lloyds Monthly Saver Update
To recap, I’m a Halifax customer with credit cards, 8% Regular Saver and a couple of unused easy access savers. No current accounts with any of the group.
Was invited to move to Lloyds app, which was a very quick and easy process. Lloyds Monthly Saver successfully opened and funded.
Happy days, apart from the fact I’ve opened so many regular savers in recent weeks that I’m about to blow my monthly budget!

But there are so many regular savings maturing with no good enough replacements its a good thing that we have Halifax/Lloyds/BOS
Darlington esaver 5.75% maturing at the end of August which I will let mature into an easy saver to keep maturity as their other products are all under 5%
Monmouth app reg saver 7% again I will let mature at the end of August into an easy saver for continuity - already have a Monmouth reg saver issue 8 6%
Principality - I had a 6 month saver mature this month and again no replacement for it so I just withdrew. I also closed down reg saver 36,37 and 38 as the funds were needed and it made sense to be feeding 7% and 8% accounts instead.
Early September has 2 more Principality six month savers maturing and YBS £50 esavers 6% maturing so there is definitely more accounts maturing with no replacements than new regular savers appearing.

sorry if I’ve missed it here but Darlington Reg Saver doesn’t seem to have matured after 12 months. Still shows interest rate at 5.75 and next interest due in December ?

Issue 2 matures at the end of the month, 12 months after you have opened
your account. For example, if you opened your account on 8th August 2025, it will
mature on 31st August 20263 -
Unless you happened to open it on the 1st of the month, this account doesn't mature after a year. It lasts longer than a year
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0
