The only issue with it would potentially be that until the Halifax account is rebranded to a Lloyds current account, you don't have the specified current account.

Re the comments on p.489 on the MonBS's Branch RS, my letter from them gives a fourth option on maturity - if we don't receive instructions, your balance will be transferred to our Easy Saver at 1.10%, which will provide you with instant access to the funds.
The online account also gives two options for an electronic transfer of matured funds from the Branch RS - either to another MonBS account, or to your nominated external account. You can set up the date and amount in advance and end with your password. Perhaps this only works if you set up the nominated account at the beginning, but there seems to be no requirement for copies of bank statements.

my MonBS Branch Exclusive RS matures on the same day, and I have just received the maturity letter in the post - it includes a URL to enter (with a unique security code to me) if you want to re-invest in another MonBS account online.
there is also the option to return your choice by post (in a prepaid envelope supplied).
if you do nothing before the 29th, then the balance is transferred to the EA account… although I think in reality, based on the RS8 maturing experience, you keep the same account number and they just change the account name and interest rate… so if the same thing occurs with this, then you should be earning interest from the maturity date (not that it really matters as the interest amount would be trivial).
if you choose "Close", then you can either send the full amount to another MonBS account, or they will send you a cheque in the post of the full balance.
perhaps making a withdrawal before maturity (if allowed) rather than closing, might be an option?
