Does the Ecology regular saver mature 12 months from the date you open it, or 12 months from the date you first fund it?

You will need to fund it within 14 days or they will close. Typically the opening date, that will count, not the date you fund the account. But imo, for Ecology BS, it does not really matter as the difference is just 14 days for the amount of £200. It is insignificant.

First funding, only 14 days to fund though so an end of August maturity is not possible without delaying applying and risking that the account will be withdrawn.

Newcastle BS and Manchester BS RS Issue 2 5.75%
£250 pcm, 1 year, no max balance, unlimited withdrawals.
Nothing to suggest can't be opened if you already hold other RS issues.

Dudley
Have you put in the right sort code for Dudley?
I made my first payment to the Loyalty RS using sort code 10001016 that I use for their Festive RS. It went through OK but without a COP match. I then spotted that for the Loyalty RS the sort code should be 10001008 and now, using that, COP has a match.

TLDR: It looks like you can have both Issues for Newcastle BS and Manchester BS regular savers - although I think there maybe a max balance on these accounts as I think the Issue 1 Newcastle BS RS did?
I already have both Newcastle BS and Manchester BS Issue 1 RS accounts open, and have just applied online for both of the above Issue 2 RS, and the online application workflow has completed and I received application reference id's for both.
Got an email from Newcastle "We are in the process of opening your new account, which will be available within 24 hours from the 'Account Summary' page when you log in"
Got an email from Manchester BS "Thank you for your Manchester Regular Saver (Issue 2) application. Your new account and account number will be available to view when you log in within the next two days" and a PM "Thank you for choosing Manchester Building Society - your Regular Saver account is now open" with a welcome pack.
So I would say it looks good that you can both Issues.

Exactly the same for me

I'm a first-time Dudley BS customer, and used the info. from the letter confirming that the account was open - out of curiosity, I did try the alternative, but had the same result.

Same here. When I logged into Newcastle after completing the application, there were already instructions for funding the account now. Worked and passed COP.

Unusually, Manchester's issue 1 is still available to open, so a new customer could still open both. Despite being a lower rate, issue 1 might still be of interest to some, as it has a higher deposit limit and allows you to build up your savings over 2 years.
